"The Twelve Apostles. Well... Seven Apostles actually...
The 'Twelve Apostles' can be seen as 7 limestone rock stacks. 6 of them are visible in the classic view enjoyed by millions of people every the year, while the 7th is located several metres away from the corner of the main viewing platform.
There were never 12 rock stacks - and they were not always called the Apostles - Sow and Piglets did not remain as a name for long. There were 9 rock stacks at the beginning of the 21st century. Then at 9:18am on 3 July 2005, one of them collapsed. Another collapsed in 2009.
The rough waves not only destroy ‘Apostles’, or rock stacks, but they form them too. The arches and bridges you will see along this stretch of coast will one day collapse and become stacks which will in turn collapse back into the ocean from where they came.
One of Australia's most popular and most photographed tourist spots - the Twelve Apostles are a must see on your Great Ocean Road trip."

"You can't do a trip along the Great Ocean Road without paying a visit to the iconic 12 Apostles. This spot is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in Victoria, if not Australia, and it's definitely worth a visit! It's truely incredible to think about how these limestone rocks have formed over hundreds of millions of years and it's quite remarkable to see!"

"No Great Ocean Road trip would be complete without seeing the Twelve Apostles. These limestone stacks are featured on pretty much every Australian postcard, and for a good reason. The 7 remaining pillars are surrounded by beautiful rugged cliffs and the roar of the waves will fully immerse you in their beauty."
