Quick Notes:

📍The Great Ocean Road (GOR) stretches along a part of the ocean where the Bass Straight meets the Southern Ocean, from Torquay to Warnambool in Victoria, Australia.

⏰ It takes about 1h 15m to drive to Torquay from Melbourne CBD. The Great Ocean Road itself is 243km (148 miles) long.

🏕️ There is plenty of camping available, either directly on the GOR at a fully funcitioning camp-ground or a bit further inland for a lower price and a more self-sufficient option. I will talk through all this but it's good to think about what you need for your specific trip to know what option will suit you.

🚘 Fill up fuel in Geelong! It is a bit more expensive down the GOR so make sure you have a full tank to start just to save that extra cash!

🚍 It is possible to get public transport but only to about half way along the GOR so ideally a car is the best option to experience this pocket of Victoria fully. If you don't have a car and are relying on public transport, I would be happy to create a specific guide tailored to you and your needs!

Let's get started!!!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jaz Dark
If there's one reason we were put on this planet, it's to explore, appreciate, experience and learn from every nook and cranny on this Earth. And doing more with less, whether that's time, money or stuff, is my style of travel, so let me help you do the same! I grew up in Melbourne and still live there today, while I also spent three years living in Singapore. Since finishing school in 2019, I have been travelling with my partner and even though international travel was off the cards during COVID-19, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time exploring my own beautiful backyard of Australia. Since international borders have re-opened, I have travelled lots of New Zealand and Europe and also have extensive knowledge of South East Asia from my time living in Singapore. From backpacking, to road-trips, to overnight hiking, I've explored forests, moutains, beaches and cities all over the world. I hope to share with you my knowledge and transport you through my words to beautifully inspiring destinations. Through this, I aim to inspire others to get out there and experience life for everything it offers - because it is a truely magical world we live in. Jaz xx
