The Perfect 4-Day Road Trip Along Australia's Great Ocean Road
Quick Notes:
📍The Great Ocean Road (GOR) stretches along a part of the ocean where the Bass Straight meets the Southern Ocean, from Torquay to Warnambool in Victoria, Australia.
⏰ It takes about 1h 15m to drive to Torquay from Melbourne CBD. The Great Ocean Road itself is 243km (148 miles) long.
🏕️ There is plenty of camping available, either directly on the GOR at a fully funcitioning camp-ground or a bit further inland for a lower price and a more self-sufficient option. I will talk through all this but it's good to think about what you need for your specific trip to know what option will suit you.
🚘 Fill up fuel in Geelong! It is a bit more expensive down the GOR so make sure you have a full tank to start just to save that extra cash!
🚍 It is possible to get public transport but only to about half way along the GOR so ideally a car is the best option to experience this pocket of Victoria fully. If you don't have a car and are relying on public transport, I would be happy to create a specific guide tailored to you and your needs!
Let's get started!!!
