"This was a really cool stop on my trip. While you can't climb on the rock you can park and walk around the base of it. Making rock cairns seems to be the activity of choice here. One of my favorite things was spotting all the squirrels who pop up here and there from their under the rock homes. Great photo ops here. You'll want to drop by for sure."

"Follow the road to the rock, and look south to the bay. Walk along the trail and chances are, you will see some otter rafts! We sat for an hour watching these little furballs wiggle and wrap themselves up in the kelp. Fun fact about Morro Rock itself - no one is allowed to climb it because it is a protected nesting areas for Peregrine Falcons."
"You should definitely take a day trip out to Morro Bay if only to see the giant rock. There are also tons of shops to walk around in and, of course, the beach. "
