What people say

Chelsea Papa
"The palatial former hillside perch of infamous newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. The property boasts a private airfield, two (oft-photographed) swimming pools, a movie theater, tennis courts, greenhouses, over 100 acres of gardens, and what was once the world’s largest private zoo. Post-pandemic, tickets for entry will be available through the Hearst Castle website; tours run for 60 minutes to two hours, for around $30 per person. Just down the hill, the ocean-facing Hearst Ranch Winery is open for outdoor-only wine tasting and picnicking right above the beach."

"Hearst Castle is a historic estate completed in 1947. The estate is beautifully designed and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The castle now offers a variety of tours of the estate, as well as walking trails though the gardens and grounds. "
"Just an hour north of SLO is the famous Hearst Castle in San Simeon, a historic estate once home to William Randolph. Now it's a museum. You can take a tour through the magnificent mansion!"
