" Ytri Tunga is actually an abandoned Icelandic farm, but behind it is a white sand beach with large lava rocks and is a common place to spot seals! The species that can be found here are harbor seals and gray seals. Time: 5 minutes to walk to the beach, 15 minutes to walk around Rating: 3/5 Crowds: few-moderate Vehicle: all accessible Parking: small lot - free. Follow signs for “Ytri-Tunga”. Seasonal: the seals are usually only seen during the summer months, especially June and July so I wouldn't bother visiting outside of those months. Pro-tip: please be respectful of the wildlife and keep a safe distance."

"There's a small parking fee and a short walk to the beach. Binoculars would have been helpful as the seals were pretty far out. Still cool to see them swimming! "
