"Benjakitti Park, located in the Khlong Toei District of central Bangkok, is a public park known for its scenic beauty and recreational offerings. Opened in 1992 and officially inaugurated in 2004, the park honors the 72nd birthday of Queen Sirikit, with the name "Benjakitti" symbolizing the Queen’s 5th cycle of life. Situated next to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and easily accessible by nearby MRT and BTS stations, the park has become a beloved destination for outdoor activities in Bangkok.
Originally developed on land previously owned by the Tobacco Authority of Thailand, Benjakitti Park occupies a reclaimed area of 200x800 meters. It features a large central boating lake, cycling tracks, outdoor exercise spaces, and paths for walking and jogging. Visitors can also rent bicycles and boats to explore the park. In 2014, the park hosted "The Phra Mahachanok The Phenomenal Life Show," held on Thailand's longest water stage at over 100 meters.
In 2006, a major expansion project began, transforming Benjakitti Park into the first park in Bangkok with a forest area. This expansion, known as Benjakitti Forest Park, increased the park's size to 72 hectares, incorporating elevated walkways, wetlands, rare plant areas, cycle paths, and an outdoor amphitheater. This expansion was completed in 2022. Additionally, the park is connected to Lumphini Park by a 1.3 km elevated pedestrian walkway and bicycle trail, offering even more opportunities for exploration and recreation."

"It's a park, but also a forest. Think Central Park but Southeast Asian. While other tourists go pack themselves into Lumpini Park, why not come here (which is so much bigger) and enjoy a quiet afternoon while watching the locals run around the lake?"

"Benchakitti Park is a public park that provides relief from the chaos of Bangkok life. You can spend a few hours enjoying the quiet, people watching and observing wildlife. "
