What people say

"Three hundred multi layer solar panels shaped as a circle with 22 meter diameter changing colors and shapes randomly. This uber cool array of brightly colored lights is supposed to simulate communication with nature, presentation of all Solar System planets and their orbits. Greeting to the Sun (Cro. Pozdrav Suncu) is another monument in Zadar that you absolutely have to visit. It’s another one of the beautiful creations designed by a famous Zadar architect, Nikola Bašić. The fact that he designed not 1, but 2 modern-day symbols of Zadar (Greeting to the Sun and the Sea Organ) speaks volumes about the contribution and importance of the architect Nikola Bašić. Greeting to the Sun is located in the port of Zadar, in the west of the Zadar Peninsula, right next to the Sea Organ. Located in this ideal location, it offers a beautiful view of Zadar's islands and the sunset. Since its official opening in 2008, it has become a well-known tourist attraction and gathering place. The monument represents the solar system in proportional figures, and each planet, including the Sun, is made of solar panels. It’s because of the solar panels that this complex, also known as the Monument to the Sun, is so special. Zadar is a city gifted with many warm, sunny days. Solar panels absorb the sun's rays, and at sunset, when it gets dark, Greeting to the Sun starts to shine."
"Located right next to the Sea Organ, a visit to the architectural sound-art object, the Greetings to the Sun, makes for a perfect destination for an evening stroll. The monument is dedicated to the sun, and consists of three hundred, multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level as the stone-paved waterfront. It consists of a 22-meter diameter circle, with photovoltaic solar modules underneath, thus solar power-charging the plates so that by nighttime, they light up with a beautiful lights show."
