Montmartre-The Martyr's Hill
@sylviadiaz
Montmartre -The steep stairs and the Sacre Coeur , the stuff that Parisian dreams are made. Montmatre feels like its own city within Paris , full of greenery and relaxing cafes. The pace of life even seems a bit slower than other parts of Paris .

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre
@sylviadiaz
The Sacre Coeur basilica looms over Montmatre with it's unique white domes, which can be viewed from practically every area of Montmatre.The Byzantine /Romanesque design by Paul Abadie was carried out over 40 years by five diiferent architechts and finished in 1914. Construction began around 1875 with the generous donations of French catholics. The dizzying climb up the more than 200 spiral steps is worth it, for the panaramic views of Paris from around the dome. The Basilica is one of the most visited religious sights in Paris and certainly worth the visit . Take care outside of the Basilica as many pick pockets are about, disguised as vendors and such .

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hello/Hola, I am Sylvia , I split my living time equally between Madrid and Las Vegas. Yes, it's true - there couldnt be two more opposite sides of the world,But you know the old saying - opposites attract. My passions are for Travel and wine. After all I am a WSET level 1 & 2 graduate. I can definitely recommend a great wine and food paring, a great bottle by region ,or based on your tastes. My travels so far have brought me to Spain, France, Italy, New York City, San Francisco and Syria - just to name a few. My real travels started when I decided to tempt fate, quit my job and travel alone to Spain and Syria to explore my family roots. The people, places and experiences were one of a kind, and those amazing adventures-fueled my passion for travel and new experiences. After all, ringing in the new year on the streets of Rome with complete strangers is pretty amazing! My mission is to inspire people who have never traveled before- to take that leap, and land in another country . Whether you are alone or well accompanied - you can do it . I would love to introduce you to the vibrant and complex world of wines .To the amazing bouquet and taste profile of a young red wine from beaujalais , or a whitefrom Raix Baixes, there is a wine for everyone. The craftmanship and talent that goes into producing an incredible bottle of wine is priceless. Your travel experiences will warm your soul, and spark new inspiration into your life . I am honored and thrilled to guide on your journeys. Trust me - they are going to be amazing !
