Things to Know about Food Culture in Athens, Greece:
- Meal times are typically later than the norm, with lunch from 1:30pm-3pm and dinner around 8:30-10pm.
- Reservations are not necessary for most restaurants, but for fine-dining and one with a view it's good practice to reserve a table in advance.
- Water is perfectly safe to drink from the tap in Athens, so ask your server for tap water when you have the chance! (It'll save you the few euros added to your bill).
- Tipping is customary and the general rule of thumb is โฌ2 to โฌ5 or to round the bill up to the nearest number ending in a โ0โ or โ5.โ
