This guide is perfect for runners traveling to Copenhagen for the Half Marathon in September. It includes race information as well as restuarant recommendations, hotel suggestions, and a list of clean and free toilets in Copenhagen.
If you are carbo loading for the race, you must make a stop here. Skt Peders has an amazing variety of baked goods and coffee. I tried several, and brought some to go so I could keep carbo loading as I walked.
This hostel offers private bedrooms and shared bathrooms, allowing for a good night's sleep before your race while saving money. The bathrooms are quite modern and large, and they also offer a free sauna for guests to recover post race.
If you are looking for a larger hotel option, the NH is a great choice. The rooms are very quiet with great sound proofing, despite being in the center of the city. This one will require a longer journey to the start and finish.
This intentional community was founded in the 1970's on a former military base. While the residents strive to keep the area safe, please stay mindful and aware of your surroundings, and remember no photos allowed.
Old and new merge together in this library. Visit the new section for sweeping views of the water, or embrace the quiet and explore the Old Royal Danish Library built in 1648
A great option to explore Copenhagen by water. The GreenKayak project allows people to rent a kayak for free, all they need to do is pick-up any litter they see on the water.

Free Bathrooms in Copenhagen
Copenhagen has seven free bathrooms across the city that are continuously cleaned by an attendant. Some of these bathrooms are almost 100 years old. You can find them by keeping an eye out for a small bronze plaques for mens and women's rooms. Many of them are also underground, so look for staircases.

I'm Sadie, a travel advisor for runners. Through running a half marathon every month of 2023 in a new country, I rediscovered my love of running. I also experienced just how many differences there are between traveling for pleasure and to run.
Now I help fellow runners plan dreamy vacations to Europe for races - either solo, with their support crew, or their running club.
I also create useful free guides for runners planning half or full marathons across Europe.
