Naviglio Grande

The Navilgio Grande is one of several canals in Milan but also the largest. With an array of restaurants offering different cuisines, some of Milan's best gelato, and unique shops for retail therapy this district is one of the most popular in the city. 

If you are hoping to explore the nightlife in Milan, Navigli is the spot. There are tons of great bars throughout the area and the crowd is vibrant and fun.  

Fun fact: Leonardo da Vinci took part in building the canal’s dams. He also designed the canal locks, which can still be seen at the Naviglio di San Marco basin.

Every last Sunday of each month the Naviglio Grande become a huge Antique Market to just stroll around for hours and find the best souvenirs to take home. Don't miss it!

We regret missing this place, and it's one of the reasons I'm eager to return to Milan. If you have the chance to visit, don't hesitate—go for it.
