Prague Highlights
Why Prague?
Prague is a city filled to the brim with cultural, architectural and historical depth while also having a rambuncious night life waiting to be explored. My days in Prague were filled with anything but sleep since it always felt like there was something to see, experience and explore.
What to do?
I recommend starting your day at Charles Bridge. This is the optimal way to orient yourself to the two sides of the city and get a view of what’s the explore.
Once across the bridge I recommend making your way through Pragues Narrowest Alley, where you can spot statues relieving themselves, and Waldstein Garden, where peacocks roam and owls stay perched.
Prague Castle to take in the architectural feat and stained glass artistry of the premises, especially the South Tower Cathedral.
After exploring all that the Prague Castle premises have to offer (don’t forget the dungeon), there are museums to explore. As you pass them take the trail up to Petrin Tower. You can climb up or take an elevator for an added cost. After a sky view take time to explore the surrounding gardens and paths.
Afterwards, make your way past the cobblestone city with quaint storefronts and homely restaurants. Consider stopping for a bite before reaching the John Lennon Wall. Be sure to bring a permanent marker since this is the only time tagging feels like the proper thing to do.
Crossing back over the bridge be sure to grab a chimney cake. You can get them on their own or filled with icecream. Personally I find the plain to be better but both are worth a try. Now that you ar back in the city, stop by the Astronomical Clock Tower as you stroll through town center.
On your way out a bonus stop if you crave some spicy fun stop by the of Sex Machines Museum to mentally prepare for the rough beer bellied night ahead.
For an inexpensive place to gulp a mug of beer stop in at U Zlateho tygra before going a local pub crawl to kick off an absolutely outrageous night.
