Christmas in London
We can assume that you'll go from December 24th to December 28th, but if you go other days it doesn't matter, just change the order of the days.
ONE THING TO REMEMBER: on Christmas Day (Dec. 25th) in London almost all the activities and attractions are closed, and there are only few working metro lines.
Day 1
- Arriving in London
- Go to your accomodation to leave the luggage
- Visit of the City Of London
Better from west to east, so from Blackfriars to Tower Hill
- Lunch
Recommended the Patty & Bun in Liverpool Street, best burger in town
- Notting Hill and Portobello Road Market
From Liverpool Street Station take the Central Line (red) to Notting Hill Gate
- Evans & Peels Detective Agency Speakeasy (you have to book)
From Notting Hill Gate take the District Line (green) to Earl's Court
- The Hippodrome Casino
From Earl's Court take the Piccadilly Line (blue) to Leicester Square
- Dinner
Recommended the Dishoom in Covent Garden
- Pubs and cocktails in Covent Garden area
Recommended The Nags Head pub for a beer and one of the Mr. Fogg's bars for a cocktail
Day 2 - Christmas Day
- Tower Hill, take a walk around London Tower and in Tower Bridge Piazza
- Pass on the Tower Bridge and get to the south bank
- Christmas market "Christmas By The River" in London Bridge
- Walk along the south bank of the river from London Bridge to London Eye
- Christmas market "Southbank Centre’s Winter Market" in Jubilee Gardens
- Pass the Waterloo Bridge
- Covent Garden
- Leicester Square and the Christmas market "Christmas In Leicester Square"
- Piccadilly Circus
- Harrods
About 30 min. walking from Piccadilly Circus, or you can easily call a Uber
- Back to the London Bridge
From Sloane Square take the Circle (yellow) or District Line (green) to Monument
- The Shard, go up with the elevator and have a cocktail while enjoying a nice London Christmas view
Recommended the Gong Bar
- Walk to Aldgate and Shoreditch for dinner and for the night
Day 3
- Breakfast at the Lomond in Deptford
Don't be late because it is very small with a small kitchen so if there are too many people you have to wait for long
- Greenwhich, Greenwhich Park, the Prime Meridian, the Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum
- Pranzo veloce
Recommended the Greenwhich Market
- Surrey Quays and its docks
It's 50 min. walking from Greenwhich Park, you can walk on the river bank, or just call an Uber
- Shoreditch
From Surrey Quays take the Overground (orange) to Shoreditch High Street
- Walk around Shoreditch and Whitechapel
- Dinner
Go to Tayyabs, it's a must do
- Beer or cocktail in that area
Recommended the speakeasy Discount Suit Company, The Bootlegger, The Nightjar Shoreditch
Day 4
- Westminster, the Big Ben and Westminster Abbey
- Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery
- Camden Town
From Charing Cross take the Northern Line (black) to Camden Town
- Lunch at the street food stalls in the Camden Market
- Visit of all the Camden Market
Take your time, is very big and full of things to see
- A couple of tiki cocktails at the Laki Kane Cocktail Bar
From Camden Town take the Northern Line (black) to Angel
Really recommended spot
- Soho
From Highbury & Islington take the Victoria Line (light blue) to Oxford Circus
- Dinner in a oriental restaurant in that area
- Cocktail in the area
Recommended the speakeasy The Blind Pig Soho or the Swift Bar
Day 5
- Breakfast at the Breakfast Club in Canary Wharf
- Canary Wharf
- Back in your accomodation to take the luggage
- Soho and Chinatown
- Carnaby Street
- Lunch in Carnaby Street
- Pass in Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square
- St. James Park and Buckingham Palace
