"🇬🇧 The Tower of London, situated on the north bank of the River Thames, is a historic castle and fortress in central London. Founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England, the Tower has served variously as an armoury, treasury, menagerie, royal palace, and prison. It is perhaps best known for its role as a prison, housing famous prisoners such as Anne Boleyn, Guy Fawkes, and Rudolf Hess. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, housing the Crown Jewels and offering guided tours by the Yeoman Warders, also known as Beefeaters.
"I really enjoyed my visit to the Tower of London! I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but it is like its own little world! You can walk around the wall and pop into the different buildings for hours! The highlight for sure is the Crown Jewels - be sure not to miss those! 💎 The cost of a ticket is around £30 and we spent a solid 3-4 hours inside (if you really take your time)! It is the perfect half-day activity! You can think of visiting the Tower of London as visiting multiple museums at one time. You can visit multiple towers, the crown jewels, a chapel and so much more. There is a lot to see - I wasn't expecting that! "
