Ristorante La Torre Di Gallucci S.
@kelda
Open for lunch and dinner, Thursday - Saturday, and lunch only on Sunday. Local family-run restaurant with great local food. They have a small garden at the front of the restaurant that’s open in the summer. A wide selection of hand-made pasta dishes all made in-house by Sara and the team (mostly her immediate family), and very good steak: if you’re a meat fan, both the tagliata al pepe e rosmarino (sliced fillet steak with pink peppercorns and rosemary) or filetto al pepe verde (fillet steak with green pepper sauce) are knockout dishes, and there’s a night dedicated to baccalà - salt cod - on a regular basis. Park in the main village square, and walk up.

A firm family-run favourite.

Ristorante Isolina
@kelda
It might not look much from the outside, but never judge a book by its cover. Their antipasti, pasta and meat dishes are so, so good. Always busy with locals, especially on Sunday lunch when they typically make pasta al forno. Their pappardelle with hare is a firm personal favourite. Honestly: try it, you’ll be astonished.

Great local with a buzzy atmosphere.

Ristorante Da Pippo E Gabriella
@kelda
A well-loved and extremely popular family-owned place with a great pasta line-up and meat grilled alle brace just beyond the village on the way to Passo Sant’Angelo.

Another good family-run local. Excellent homemade antipasti.

Ristorante Al Girarrosto
@kelda
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Loro Piceno with a few outside tables and a large inside space with beautiful vaulted ceilings. If you want to try the local speciality of vincisgrassi (a lasagna typica to this region), then this is the place to go. Don’t be put off by the slightly grumpy old man that might serve you; he’s completely harmless!

Beautiful vaulted ceiling, so perfect for those rainy days. Outside seating in the summer months.

Lu Ministru - Osteria Piccolo Caffè
@kelda
Excellent for a sun-down aperitivo, apericena or a dinner, with beautiful outside seating in the summer months.

Outside seating in a pretty side street off the main square in the summer. Excellent wine and homemade pasta.

Norcineria La Centrale del Gusto
@kelda
This is a great place, especially if you want a buzzy Saturday night dinner out (be warned: do book a table). Great local food that you order and pay for at the till, take a seat and then they call your name or buzz your table, for you to pick up the food. Pasta, gnocchi, panini, grilled meat, salads, very good local wine & beer, excellent salami and cheeses. This is also a great place for outside eating at lunchtime, with a playground for young children to let off some steam.

Great for a lunch if you have kids, or for a rowdy Saturday night dinner with friends/family.

La Baita Bar Ristoro all'Aperto
@kelda
This is a magical outside, seasonal restaurant, open only in the spring and summer with the feel of a campsite about it. Tables are set outside under the shade of the huge trees, just outside of the Abbadia di Fiastra, so it’s perfect for a post-walk lunch. We love it even more in the evening when it’s lit up with strings of lights and you can see the smoke billowing out of the “cooking hut”. With a small, but good menu, the incredibly friendly staff will help you choose the best dishes to try.

The friendliest of seasonal restaurants, for outside eating, especially for a magical dinner under the stars.

DA MARINA AL TEATRO
@kelda
Open for dinner only, this is a great pizzeria with a big range of delicious pizzas - although you can also get pasta (of course!). It’s extremely popular in the summer with families, especially on a Saturday night. Mogliano itself is a lovely little town with uninterrupted views of the mountains, for those of you with a good eye for a photo. Get a table outside, and marvel at the swifts darting across the square in the evening light, catching their own dinner.

Excellent pizzas in a pretty little restaurant. The town of Mogliano is just as pretty with wonderful views of the mountains.

Ristorante Chalet Vela
@kelda
Great fish and seafood pasta dishes served by Leonardo - he speaks very good English - and his extremely friendly staff. Get a table outside on the terrace for the full Adriatic experience. Possibly our favourite, but given the quality everywhere here, it’s always subject to change! Truly spoilt for choice.

Excellent seafood, with seating right up to the sand and a view of the sea.

Chalet trattoria Da Elvezio
@kelda
Don’t be put off by the plastic tables and chairs. This place is really about the food, not the decor, and serves some of the freshest and beautifully simple seafood around. The owner is also the fisherman and has a real love of his craft. Right on the beach, get a table outside with sea views.

A favourite for the locals, right on the seafront. The freshest of fish.

Ristorante Pizzeria Altamarea
@kelda
A larger restaurant with an enormous menu of antipasti and seafood pasta dishes, it also makes pizzas during the day (which is unusual for a lot of Italy), and means it caters well for non fish / meat eaters too. It’s particularly good out of the summer season when many of the beach-side restaurants are closed.

Good fish restaurant, but also pizza at lunchtime, which is almost unheard of!

Albergo Ristorante Delle Loggette
@kelda
Large, family restaurant with views of the mountains. It's the perfect spot for a long, Sunday lunch with friends and family, or a Friday seafood supper. Very friendly, helpful staff, good local wine and fabulous antipasti.

A good local to our B&B if you don't want to travel to far.

Ristorante La Patata Bollente
@kelda
A short drive up into the mountains towards the Sassotetto ski resort, on a summer’s day you can get a table outside with lovely views down over Sarnano. One of the best cheese selections as part of their antipasti, the food is a little different to the usual. All pasta dishes are top-notch, and the pork cooked with onion and beer is delicious. Incredibly friendly owners and a very good wine selection.

Fabulous antipasti and homemade pasta, up towards the mountains.

Osteria Scherzi a Parte
@kelda
Opposite La Patate Bollente (see above), this is a very friendly osteria with a good menu. Tables both inside or out, with fabulous views looking down on Sarnano. The owner is incredibly friendly, happy to talk you through the menu and likes to top up his own small glass of wine to make a toast to his guests.

Very friendly place with great mountain food.

Ristorante da Rosa | Abbadia di Fiastra | Tolentino
@kelda
Some of the best ravioli we’ve had has been here. In the summer, get a table outside under their big umbrellas - it’s the perfect place for a long summer Sunday lunch. Good meat dishes too, and a very good selection of local wine. Another favourite is the gnocchi with duck: seriously good grub.

Excellent food in a beautiful setting.

Da Rosa
@kelda
A cosy little place tucked away in one of Macerata’s narrow back streets. Very friendly staff, traditional feel and some excellent solid cooking. Scrambled eggs with truffle and their vincisgrassi (Le Marche’s own version of lasagne) are a must. The Mayor is often seen in here, so there’s an endorsement for you.

Try the eggs with summer truffles... to die for.

Locanda Le Logge
@kelda
A fabulous spot for a long lunch or dinner in the heart of Urbisaglia - which is one of the many small, pretty villages around here. Ask for a table outside under the arched colonnade. The food is local fare but with a modern / clever twist. You have the option of a multi-course tasting menu, or simply share some dishes between you. Really excellent cooking and a good wine list, in a very stylish environment.

Perfect for lunch under the shade of an arched colonnade.

Dei Priori
@kelda
Family run, a real gem of a no-frills restaurant in the very pretty hilltop village of Monte San Martino. As there’s no outside eating space, it’s a good place for eating on a rainy day and has an especially lively buzz for Sunday lunch. Their house pasta is a tagliatelle made with nettles, which is definitely worth trying. All their meat is cooked alla brace (on the indoor wood fire) so has a wonderful flavour to it. Great homemade tiramisu for dessert.

A perfect eating spot for a long lunch or dinner when it's cold or raining.

Osteria del Lago
@kelda
Set by the Lago San Ruffino lake on the road to Amandola, and with views of the mountains, this is a lovely simple place - and a great lunch spot. Very good antipasti and homemade pasta, and nice seating outside when the weather is good. You can also do a short 45 minute walk pre- or post-lunch, with lovely views of the lake from above, and vistas across to the Sibillini.

Lake-side eating at its best.

Enoteca Bar a Vino di Rossi Giuseppe
@kelda
Go to the Thursday night market having booked a table on the terrazza under the arches, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the square from a unique vantage point. Beppe Rossi, the chef with a mad professor look, prepares delicious classic dishes with a modern twist: try the 10-course tasting menu with wine: astonishing.

Perfect for people watching on a Thursday evening in July or August when the night time market takes place in Fermo's beautiful piazza.

Albergo Ristorante Farfense
@kelda
Restaurant with a very pretty vaulted ceiling, but also a nice terrace in the summer for outside eating and lovely views. Fantastic pizza (evenings only), alongside excellent local pasta dishes and antipasti.

Great views from this restaurant at the top of a pretty village.

PIZZA FACTORY - PIANE DI MONTEGIORGIO
@kelda
Don't be put off by the name of the seemingly "fast food" appearance of this place. The pizzas are absolutely delicious. Seriously. In the summer, they have seating outside with a small bar, for a less 'flourescent' experience.
Add to

Seriously good pizzas. Don't be put off by the roadside location.

Pizzeria Best Of
@kelda
A fabulous unassuming pizzeria, set back from a busy road (but set back enough to be able to eat outside if you so wish. Great for both takeaway and to eat in, the pizzas are Neapolitan style with a huge range of really interesting toppings. They also have some excellent local artisanal beers, and red/white wine, but only by the bottle (but for €8 you won't care!). Go hungry - the pizzas are filling.

Another excellent pizzeria. Looks like nothing from the outside, but the Neapolitan style pizzas are extremely good.

Ristorante Pizzeria Belvedere
@kelda
Neapolitan-style pizza, with the lightest of dough, with a fabulous, huge terrace overlooking the mountains. Perfect for warm summer nights, for a bite to eat and a glass or two of wine.

The perfect setting for dinner outside on a warm, summer's night, in a pretty little village. Fabulous views of the mountains and perfect for those sundown photos. Excellent pizza, but they also serve the usual pasta, meat, veg, salads, so there's something for everyone.
