I've cruise to Alaska twice: My very first cruise was aboard Star Princess back in the year 2003, sailing from Seattle to Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan in Alaska with scenic cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord. This year, I had the opportunity to enjoy a similar itinerary with my sister aboard the Discovery Princess. We had a wonderful time and we also did some fun do-it-yourself (DIY) shore excursions!

Chihuly Garden and Glass

The Chihuly Gardens and Glass is a spectacular display of Chihuly’s artwork. This museum takes you through Chihuly’s various art collections and you also have the opportunity to enjoy his artwork while exploring the outdoor garden. 

You’ll have the opportunity to watch 6 short films to learn more about Chihuly’s artwork. Including the films, we spent about 1 hour exploring the glass and gardens.   

You can buy combo tickets with the Chihuly Garden and Glass. The Chihuly is a museum of glass sculptures that are pretty magnificent located inside and outside. It is located right next to the Space Needle. If this interests you I would recommend buying the combo tickets to help save you money. 

 

What an incredible museum filled with Chihuly's beautiful glass art. You can also watch glass blowing demos in the outdoor garden, and enjoy the garden cafe for drinks and light bites. Located right next to the Space Needle. Tip: Purchase a combined ticket for a discounted price.  

Chihuly is a Seattle staple and must see - especially if you're already finding yourself in Seattle Center checking out the space needle. The glass is featured all over the city but the garden and glass museum features some truly beautiful pieces. 

Museum for world renowned (local) glass artist Dale Chihuly. Beautiful glass garden with space needle overhead. Great IG spot. 

10/10 recommend. I did not expect to see all way glass is shaped here and how they all refract light so differently.
