Taipei in One Day

Taiwan is often overlooked by tourists when traveling to Asia. Taipei, the island nation's capital, has a rich history and culture. It offers amazing scenery, food, temples, and nightlife. This guide is recommended for those whose time in Taipei is limited. Here, I include my must-see places in the city. 📸instagram: @adritravelstheworld

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

A must-see place to visit when in Taipei! The building and surrounding areas are jaw-dropping! The museum offers visitors with an insight into Taiwanese history. Did I mention that it's free? P.S.: There is a guard change that happens every hour that I recommend seeing.

Also known as Elephant, this is one of the most famous places where you can get an amazing view of the iconic Taipei 101 and the city. I recommend going here either in the morning or in the afternoon. There are so many stairs (it felt never-ending) so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Tip: If you keep walking past the scenic view point, you will find really nice trails that will take you to different parts of the mountain.

Songshan Ciyou Temple

If you only have time to see one temple while in Taipei, I recommend visiting this one! It is also right next to Rahoe night market!

Ximending is one of Taipei's most famous district. Here you will find a lot of shops, restaurants, performers, and so much more. There is a really famous street called "Tattoo Street" where you will find a lot of tattoo and piercing shops. I got a tattoo and piercing here so definitely recommend!
