How do I get here and around?
✈️ BY AIR:
The closest international airport is Tivat Airport, located approximately 25 km from Herceg-Novi. Several airlines offer direct flights to Tivat from various European countries. Upon arrival, you can hire a taxi or rent a car to reach Herceg-Novi, which is about a 30 minute drive away. Alternatively, you can arrange airport transfers via your hotel or airbnb host.
🚗BY CAR:
Herceg-Novi is accessible by car, and it has good connections to neighboring countries. If you're traveling by car, you can reach the area via the Adriatic Highway (Jadranska Magistrala) from both the north and the south. The road offers scenic views of the coastline. Keep in mind there may be tolls along the way.
⛴️BY FERRY:
Another option is to travel by ferry. Herceg-Novi has a ferry terminal that provides connections to other towns and islands in the Bay of Kotor. Ferry services are available to locations like Kotor, Tivat, Perast, and the island of Mamula. It's a scenic and enjoyable way to explore the area.
🚍BY BUS:
The town has a well-developed bus network connecting Herceg-Novi to other neighboring countries and cities in Montenegro. Regular bus services operate from Podgorica, Kotor, Dubrovnik (Croatia), and Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The bus station is conveniently located near the city center, making it easy to access.
To get around is super simple, you can walk most of the area, but for longer distances options include taxis, local buses, and renting a car. Taxis can be hailed on the street or booked through phone apps, while local buses hold stands around the city.
Where should you stay?

I'm more of a luxurious person:
Where should I grab breakfast and/or coffee?
Where to eat dinner?
Where should I grab a drink?
Where should I see?
What tours should I book from Herceg-Novi?
TIP: You can also not book anything in advance and do an airbnb experience or walk to the port where there are stands for different tours, but I'd recommend booking one in advance through the links since they are full day or half day tours!
