But let's get into it - if you didn't already know but my brother and I went to Japan and a wrote about a few things we discovered along the way here. 

However, what I really need to share is the restaurants, experiences and of course the bars that we visited on our 2-week trip. There are a few that we didn't get around to but most of them got ticked off the list. We started the list on our phone notes app about a month before leaving. It was a brilliant way to keep track of our itinerary and for us to be on par with what we wanted to get out of the trip. After seeing this list, we realised that we wanted two things. To Eat and To Eat some more.

HIROSHIMA

Okonomimura - 25 restaurants

Itsukushima shrine (can still seen Torii Gate for free if you don't want to go to pay to go into the shrine)

KYOTO:

Chicken on a stick (holy !!!!, best thing we've ever eaten and you will find it at Nishiki Market...I believe it is across from Houkyuuan restaurant on the corner so if you find that then you are right to go).

Patisserie Gion Sakai

Gion

Maikoya Tea ceremony (can't recommend this enough!) They dress you up in a traditional Kimono and even let you walk around in the Kimono after the ceremony ends, you just have to return it back to the store by 5pm.

Fushimi Inari Shrine

Mameshibu cafe

Matsui Sake Brewery

Drink:

Plum wine from Kyoto region

Things we missed:

Omurice Rice Man (hugely hyped since Netflix's Street Food Show, must book in advance)Ninja Theme Park

The Golden Pavilion

Noodle Slide (wasn't open for Dec)

Accommodation:

We stayed in a traditional Ryokan on a tatami and really enjoyed our cosy stay at Gojo Annex. 

TOKYO 

Eat:

Genki Sushi

Kura sushi

Sugoi Niboshi

Ramen Nagi Shinjuku

Golden Gai so many more places but we were too busy eating 7/11 rice balls

Explore:

Shibuya Sky (book a sunset time slot in advance)

Akihabara

Asakusa underground street

Ginza AreaPiss Alley

Takenotsuka

Things we missed:

Nagashi Somen Yama no yu onsen

Accommodation:

One night in a capsule hotel called Nine Hours Otemachi-Imperial Palace.
