What people say

"Step into a realm of enchantment at Nara Park, where nature, history, and wildlife converge in a breathtaking embrace. Nestled in the heart of Nara, this expansive park is a sanctuary for both locals and visitors alike. Home to over a thousand free-roaming deer, considered sacred messengers of the gods in Shinto tradition, Nara Park offers a unique opportunity for close encounters with these gentle creatures. As you stroll through the lush surroundings, you'll discover iconic landmarks such as Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, adding a rich cultural tapestry to the scenic beauty. Cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant foliage in autumn paint a picturesque backdrop, creating a serene haven that captivates the senses. Nara Park isn't just a park; it's a harmonious blend of nature and history, inviting you to immerse yourself in the timeless charm of one of Japan's most revered destinations."

"This sprawling park spanning approximately 1,200 acres. It is renowned for its cultural and natural beauty, attracting visitors from around the world. The park is famous for its friendly and freely roaming deer, considered sacred messengers of the gods. Visitors can interact with these gentle creatures, feed them special crackers, and even take memorable photos with them. In addition to the deer, Nara Park is home to several historic landmarks, including ancient temples, shrines, and gardens. It offers a serene and picturesque setting, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and natural wonders of Japan."
"The most popular day trip from Kyoto, for a reason! The bowing deer in Nara Park are far from overrated - make sure to bring some coins to buy deer biscuits from vendors scattered throughout the park. If short on time in the Kyoto area, this can be done after a morning exploring Fushimi Inari (which is already recommended to visit early to avoid crowds). Make sure to leave time to explore Todaiji Temple when in Nara! Admission: Nara Park is free, 800 yen for Todaiji Temple"
