Cote D'Azur, France

La Cote D'Azur, France. One of the most well-known regions in France, it stretches from the Italian border to Saint Tropez and includes the country Monaco. Visit the towns that encompass the Cote D'Azur, swim in the Mediterranean Sea, and enjoy great French food!

Menton
@amyrenee
Menton is a lot quieter than other towns along the Cote D'Azur. Many flock to Nice, Cannes or Monaco but be sure not to make the same mistake... visit Menton! Full of old historic buildings, bright colours, warm weather and the Mediterranean Sea this town feels like a true French Village.
*TIP: It is a very hilly village so be sure to wear comfortable shoes!*

Monaco
@amyrenee
The second smallest country in the world, with only the truly rich living here! It is an incredible city with sheer cliffs that have buildings clustered together overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Be sure to visit the Casino de Monte Carlo and Le Rocher.
*TIP: If you are lucky enough to plan your trip in time with the F1 Race it creates an even more extraordinary atmosphere. Thousands of people gather along the footpaths to watch the event!*

Èze
@amyrenee
Filled with medieval buildings, narrow stoned passages and awe-inspiring views over the Mediterranean Sea, Eze is very much worth a visit. It is nestled between Monaco and Nice and is common for people to visit on a day trip! A must do on the trip is the Nietzsche Trail - a hike that leads you to Eze Sur Mer (the beach). It is not a difficult hike but isn't relatively easy either but the view makes every step worth it.
*TIP: Enjoy a drink or a croissant (or both!) on the terrace at Chateau Eza. Though pricey, €14 for a bowl of mixed croissants, it is a rewarding treat and a great to way to take in the magnificent scenery!*

Nice
@amyrenee
Nice is one of my favourite cities in the world. It is the largest along the Cote D'Azur and offers a combination of city life, vibrant cafes and bars, rich culture, and Baroque architecture all while being on the Mediterranean Sea. A few of the must dos here include walking along the Promenade des Anglais, visiting the old-town, and eating seafood!
*TIP: Take a walk up Av. Jean Lorrain - it is a windy, steep road but along the way there are many view points that overlook the whole city!*

Antibes
@amyrenee
The yachting hub of Europe! Antibes is absolutely stunning and use to be a Roman town. It is filled with the bluest of blues water, museums, cobble stone roads, superyachts, and parasol pines. Be sure to visit Juan-les-Pins which is part of Antibes, the Picasso museum at the Grimaldi Chateau and wonder around Port Vauban to see 100+m long superyachts!
*TIP: Go for a walk along the magnificent tracks that wind themselves through coves, beaches and the Mediterranean vegetation! *

Cannes
@amyrenee
Perhaps most famous for the Cannes Film Festival, Cannes is a popular destination for the rich and famous. Filled with luxury hotels, large casino, superyachts and fine dining it is a must to see! If you can time your visit for when the Cannes Film Festival is happening there will be a never ending supply of events happening. There are many things to do in Cannes but the top ones to tick off include walking along La Croisette, see Villa Rothschild, visit the old port and explore the beautiful area of Le Suquet.
*TIP: Eat local food at Marche Forville - it is a covered market with seasonal produces and flowers!*

Théoule-sur-Mer
@amyrenee
A lesser-known destination along the Cote D'Azur, it is quieter and offers an escape from the busy tourist destinations. Just as beautiful as every else, Theoule-sur-Mer offers various sandy beaches with crystal clear water, a port, and the Corniche d'Or ... one of the most gorgeous stretches of road to exist with the Mediterranean Sea to one side and red cliffs to the other. It is a must to drive or ride your bike along!
*TIP: Be sure to swim at Plage du Chateau. It is a public beach nestled between the port and a Castle. It is a breathtaking site and if you swim about 20metres out from the shore you can get a magnificent view from the back of the Castle that you otherwise wouldn't be able to see from the street! *

Saint-Tropez
@amyrenee
An old fishing village, Saint Tropez is now a destination filled with celebrities, executive clubs, yachts and allure. It is a destination that always has something going on, so can be visiting both during the week and on the weekends! Some must dos while in Saint Tropez include exploring Musee de l'Annociade, visiting the old town La Ponche, see over 35,000 colourful butterflies at Maison des Papillons, and hike the half-day trail at Sentier du Littoral.
*TIP: watch the locals play petanque at Place des Lices!*

Additional Towns
@amyrenee
There are many other cities / towns / villages to visit along the Cote D'Azur that each offer their own slice of paradise. If you are on a road trip be sure to stop in the smaller villages and submerge yourself in the local culture! Every place along the Cote D'Azur is worth a visit!
