These things are my essentials for the city of bridges but I figured I'd give them to you for free cause we're friends. 😉
Porto has my heart. Always and Forever (Iykyk)
I'm a creature of habit who believes in short stays vs vacations. 1-3 months vs 1-3 week and so these are the essentials for me (though these will work for everyone). Wherever I go these are the things I'm doing, the places I need to know immediately and the spots I'll return to time and time again.
The coffee shop lover's dream. Combi is the perfect place to hunker down with a FANTASTIC cup of coffee and get some work done. I spent quite a bit of time here during my time in Porto.
Honestly There are so many high places with gorgeous views in Porto. So may have just picked one without much commitment. Take a walk across the Dom Luís Bridge for most stunning views. Take it to the next level by going in the evening before sunset and taking a seat at the Jardim do Morro as the sun sets.
As a member of Outsite I had the pleasure of staying at Outsite Porto for a little over a month. I loved the set up that lent a little more space and privacy with it's apartment set up, while maintaining the community aspect in an intimate co-working space. HIGHLY recommend.
HEAR ME OUT! While I believe when traveling McDonald's should ALWAYS be on the itinerary this McDonald's is a no negotiable. It's fancy friends. Are there maybe stained glass slaves on the back wall? Yes. But it's a good time. 😂
They had everything you could possibly need so there isn't much else to say. If you're not from the area, take some cash as they don't take international credit cards.

CAUSE I'M BLACK
a luxury in the states is the newfound ease we have finding products for our hair. In countries where the market doesn't serve textured hair this is a must and usually requires a bit of a hunt. NOTE: They will often be dedicated to African hair not Black hair but in Portugal Afro Brazilian is what you're looking for. That's an important tidbit when searching.
I found a few stores most outside of the city center but this one was central and on a super cute street so I was able to make an afternoon of wandering after I picked up a few things. The American products were slim so be sure to do a little research on Afro-Brazilian hair products you might like to use before heading over.
👋🏽 I'm Lydia and I sort of fell into full-time travel.
After studying abroad in college the yearning to make the hop and skip back out of the states never left. Last year I left my apartment and the states with plans to be in London and found myself everywhere but. That said, I'm the girl people go to for information (often to my annoyance) BUT This seems like a fantastic way to share ALL of the data I've mined and experience I have gathered as I've been traveling.
I'm a creature of habit who believes in short stays vs vacations. 1-3 months vs 1-3 week and so you'll find that a lot of my guides lean toward slow travel and remote workers. I hope that we all can find what we need here. Wether it exists or we work together to build it cause doing life alone can be daunting.
