Getting there

Hwaseong Fortress: Suwon Station (Line 1 or Suin Bundang) + local bus

Kyunghee University: Yeongtong Station (Suin Bundang Line)

Gwanggyo Lake Park: Gwanggyo Jungang (Sinbundang Line)

Starfield Mall: Hwaseo (Line 1)

Things to do

The Hwaseong Fortress is part of the UNESCO world heritage and the streets around the fortress are super cute with tons of restaurants and trendy cafes.

If you visit during spring, Kyunghee University Suwon Campus is absolutely stunning!

Another beautiful place to visit in Suwon is the Lake Park in Gwanggyo, it's a great area to go for a walk and there is a cute cafe street as well.

Finally, the new Starfield Mall with an impressive library is also located in Suwon.

Getting there

From Seoul you can get an intercity bus to Jeonju, which should take just under 3 hours.

You can also take the KTX train, which will take about 2 hours 15min.

Things to do

Jeonju boasts a beautiful Hanok village with tons of traditional restaurants, tea houses, and view points. A great place to rent some traditional clothing and roam the streets.

Getting there

From Seoul you can get an ITX train to Gapyeong.

To get to Nami Island you will need a ferry ticket or you can also zipline over to Nami Island if you're feeling adventurous!

Things to do

Nami Island is a crowd favourite. If you visit during spring or fall foliage it might be reallly busy, but in my opinion it's worth a trip nevertheless. If you are craving for some nature and quiet just go off the main road and find yourself a spot. You can also rent bicycles on the island to get around.

Tip: You can also combine a trip to Nami Island with the Garden of Morning Calm, which is also a beautiful place to visit, especially when the flowers bloom or during autumn!

Getting there

KTX from Seoul Station or Cheongnyangni. The ride only takes 2 hours from Seoul Station. Alternatively you can also take an intercity bus, which will take around 3 hours.

Things to do

My number one. It's honestly so beautiful, I would recommend spending more than one day if you can! That being said it's totaly possible to do it as a day trip from Seoul. The pine trees at the beach are stunning, you can go for a walk, have a picnic or even a nap under the trees. The sound of the ocean is so beautiful and it's just overall the perfect place to spend a relaxing day in nature. Can't recommend it enough.
