"Jeonju is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time to traditional Korea. If you're a fan of history and culture, you'll love exploring the Jeonju Hanok Heritage Village, with its old-fashioned houses, craft shops, and food stalls. And if you're into royalty, you won't want to miss the Gyeonggijeon Shrine, home to some seriously impressive portraits of former kings.
But that's not all – Jeonju has a lot to offer beyond its rich cultural heritage. For example, the Korean Traditional Wine Museum is a must-visit spot where you can learn all about the local rice wines, while the Omokdae and Imokdae pavilions offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape from their hilltop vantage points.
So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to Jeonju, located in the heart of North Jeolla Province, and experience all that this vibrant city has to offer. With its foodie scene and traditional hanok village, Jeonju is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
🎒
Day-trip-friendly from Seoul but I’d personally recommend you to stay overnight in one of the hanok (traditional Korean house) guesthouses in the Jeonju Hanok Village if you can! "

Can I do Jeonju as a day trip?
It can be easily done as a day trip from Seoul. However, I strongly recommend staying here for a couple of days. This is one of the best places to stay in a hanok (a traditional Korean house). If you're interested in recommendations for hanok stays check out my accommodation guide.
If you're a bit nervous about travelling and/or organising a trip to Jeonju I'll include some tours for you below. "
