Dining

Diogenis
@JessieWestTravel
We enjoyed dining on the outdoor terrace here overlooking Lisikratous Square. It feels like you're in a little garden in the heart of the Plaka.

Estia Cafe Restaurant

One of our favorite places to stop for lunch or dinner in the Plaka. Reasonable prices for the area and friendly staff. I really like the vegetarian moussaka here.

Do & See

Plaka
@JessieWestTravel
The best area for walking around in Athens. So many shops and restaurants to choose from, and usually street musicians playing traditional music. Safe to walk during the day and into the late evening. The stores and restaurants stay open well after dark and there are always tourists wandering through the streets.

Parthenon
@JessieWestTravel
I recommend going early in the morning or later in the afternoon/evening for sunset. It's a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. There is also very little shade, so a hat is a good idea and definitely take some water up with you. The main entrance can be busy, but there is another side entrance (south slope) which is less of a wait if it is open. You can book tickets online in advance to avoid the lines.

Acropolis Museum
@JessieWestTravel
Well worth the time to visit this museum, it's one of the best I've been to. You can book tickets in advance online. Must-sees if you're short on time: - The Karyatids statues, first floor - Parthenon Gallery, third floor
