In a really touristy area without a reservation? This gives you a cheat sheet for eating well anywhere you find yourself!
Everywhere on here I've personally eaten or had it recommended to me by someone living there at least 5 years.

The pasta options are amazing! We go here every time we visit Florence. My favorite pastas are the pasta chiantigiana and their house rigatoni!

Two locations, one city and one out in the countryside. Good food, but if you have a car head for the countryside for the views and ambiance!

Rooster Cafe Firenze

Great American-style brunch! It does get crowded fast. The pancakes are great as well as the chicken and waffles.

La Ménagère

Great for coffee in the morning and cocktails at night! It also has space for coworking/laptops if you need to get a few hours’ work done.

An upscale mall cafe/restaurant, but if you go up the stairs to one side you can sit on the roof with a view of the Duomo and Piazza della Repubblica.

Great speakeasy spot - if you do one, start here. Good unusual cocktails with a great feel. If you go in the high season, definitely make a reservation.

One of the best gelaterias in the city! Definitely go here. They have a ton of flavors, a good mix of classics and unusual options. My favorite so far was blackberry!

Amateur Italian, travel advisor, and adventurous eater!
I’m a travel creative living in small town northern Italy, and I've been planning travel for over 15 years. I've lived on three continents and visited over 40 countries, so I'm passionate about helping travelers experience the best of a location, no matter where!
I love both/and travel: I want to see the big sights AND the local hangouts, the big cities AND the small towns. I’d love to help you do it too!
If you’re going to Rome for the first time, you don’t need me to tell you to see the Colosseum. But you might want me to tell you if it’s better as a guided tour or on your own, what add-on’s are worth the money, and what are the extra secret things your ticket can get you!
My favorite part of travel is eating well: finding the local haunts, tasting a new wine, and trying the local dishes. Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive: sometimes the best of a place is in the street food! But if it is a splurge, I'll make sure it's worth every penny.
I'd love to work with you to create the trip of your dreams!
