Rome's city center is quite walkable, so take advantage of the pedestrian-friendly streets to explore the major attractions on foot.
Consider purchasing a Roma Pass, which provides free entry to selected museums, discounts on attractions, and unlimited public transportation for either 48 or 72 hours.
Use public transportation, such as buses or the metro, to reach destinations that are farther away.
Sightseeing:
Rome was founded in 753 BC and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
The Colosseum is a must-visit historical landmark. Take advantage of free admission on the first Sunday of every month or purchase a combined ticket to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill for a more budget-friendly option.

St. Peter's Basilica is a must-see attraction in Vatican City. Entrance to the basilica is free, but there may be a long queue. Consider visiting early in the morning to avoid crowds. If you will come before 8 am you will get in within 10 minutes. As queue is there, but moving fast.
Vatican Museum is definitely impressive. But if you will not buy โskip the lineโ ticket expect 2 hours queue. I really recommend visit it of the main season if you can.
Explore the Pantheon, an impressive ancient temple, which is free to enter. Witness the incredible dome and marvel at its architectural brilliance.
The Trevi Fountain is a popular tourist spot. According to legend, if you throw a coin over your shoulder into the fountain, you'll ensure your return to Rome. The coins are collected and used for charity.
The Spanish Steps, located in the Piazza di Spagna, are a favorite meeting place for locals and tourists alike. Climb the steps for a beautiful view of the city. Keep in my that it is forbidden to sit on those steps and police frequently patrol place.
Save some time to explore the most vibrant area of Rome - Trastevere. Please explore main square, but also walk around less touristy areas.
Food and Drink:
Try the local street food, such as supplรฌ (deep-fried rice balls with a gooey cheese center) or pizza al taglio (rectangular pizza sold by the slice).
Explore the local markets, like Campo de' Fiori, for fresh produce and affordable snacks.
Don't forget to try the gelato! Look for smaller gelaterias away from major tourist areas for better prices and authentic flavors.
Parks and Outdoor Activities:
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city by visiting Villa Borghese, a beautiful park where you can rent bicycles or rowboats on the lake.
The Appian Way, one of Rome's oldest roads, is now a regional park. Explore this ancient path lined with Roman ruins, catacombs, and charming countryside scenery.
