San Salvador Recommendations

Weather

I was in El Salvador in July, and the weather was mostly warm. There was a mix of rainy days and sunny days.

"El Salvador, a small country of Central America located at 13-14 degrees north latitude and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, has a tropical climate, hot all year round along the coast and below 1,000 meters (3,300 feet), which are called tierras calientes, with little difference in the temperature (only a few degrees) over the seasons.

The real difference is found in rainfall and humidity: there is a rainy season from late April to October which is also definitely muggy."

Internet

I did not work while I was in San Salvador, so I'm not sure if the internet in most places is strong enough for remote working. However, there is wifi in most places. The wifi in our Airbnb was good enough for social media and streaming videos.

Transportation

Uber is available in San Salvador. We used Uber while in San Salvador and then rented a car to take road trips outside of San Salvador.

There are local buses, known as chicken buses, that you can use to get around El Salvador. These are the colorful old American school buses. They are cheap but less convenient than renting a car.
