Edinburgh's appeal leaves nobody aside. I reached Edinburgh to seek peace from my break-up!.. Whilst I was greeted by gloomy weather like my life at that point, the sun and people finally came out and showed me a good time. (yay)
...Regardless of the weather, this city is quite stunning and takes you back in time by making you feel like moving here to Dean's Village, Oh my what a little quaint pretty place or into the sets of one of those historic UK crime-thriller shows!

There are multiple easy ways to get here as it is one of the main cities of Scotland. Well connected by Road, Air & Rail. ➡️ Take the road by driving in the scenic routes of the UK, either via the East Coast Route passing by towns such as Cambridge, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, etc., or the Lake District Route passing by towns such as Oxford, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Windermere, etc. ➡️If Driving is not your game, you can easily take my beloved National Express coaches, they can be quite affordable. ➡️Or take a flight directly to Edinburgh Airport. ➡️And my favorite option- The Railways, multiple lines run to Edinburgh Waverley Train Station. You can easily buy tickets online on the Trainline App. Again a very comfortable and affordable option, sometimes with some stunning coast views of the highlands!
Start early, unpack at your stay & then get going to explore this pretty historic city: Day 1 Consists mainly of walking down all the famous streets in the old town side of the city, exploring the little hidden lanes, browsing many shops and eating yum food & tasting some of that gin & whisky, ending it with a bam at a live music venue.
🔶Start with Breakfast at & Then follow the trail of places in the order mentioned below:
A mix of local & touristy crowds, personally had a really good time quietly sipping on my whisky cocktail here. It felt just right, a bit quieter than the chaos on The Royal Mile bars and amongst the oldie goldie locals of the city who seemed to have come in there for their usuals.
Fancy a Scottish Dance Night? They have these special nights on certain days of the week, so check in with your stay (they might know) or contact Stramash itself to find out when is that happening! It gets really packed but it's quite lively people, you are bound to enjoy it!

Day 2
As you have guessed by now, this city needs you to walk and I am quite the walker too! - Day 2- Transport yourself to this gorgeous little village- Dean's Village (ask somebody about the property prices and be ready to have your jaws dropped) & take a serene walk by the river and find yourself at the Royal Botanical Gardens, & finally walking around the New Town to shop & eat and chill! Makars is a must to eat, their customer service- food quality and quantity is all just so good!!
On the last day for our 3-day itinerary, Rise & Shine, have some good old English brekkie and start off the hike to Arthur's Seat (be mindful, if you are a lightweight like me, you might just fly away up there haha), and next be ready for a long walk down to the city of Leith.
Walk down Arthur's Street from Meadowfield Park side, passing by Lochend Park. Roam around the streets in this area on either side of the river walkway.
This is by far the best hostel I have ever lived at! So biggg and thematically well done, every room has its quirky name, beds are clean and well maintained, breakfast is just enough, not wow in variety but just the basics done right types! It's got a very big kitchen, a movie room, such a big lounge area. I had such a good time on my entire trip in that hostel. The tours and reccs from them are also on point!! Whether you book a private room or a dorm room, the entire experience of this place is totally worth it! *Brownie Points* It's right next to the Edinburgh Castle.
