What people say

"Arthur’s Seat is a prominent ancient volcano and the main peak in Edinburgh’s Holyrood Park, offering one of the best panoramic views of the city and beyond. Standing at 251 meters (823 feet), it provides a relatively accessible hiking experience for outdoor enthusiasts. The hike to the summit is approximately 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) round trip and typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on pace and weather conditions. The most popular starting point is from the main entrance of Holyrood Park, near the Palace of Holyroodhouse. There are several paths to the top, with the most direct route being the well-trodden trail from the base of the hill. The terrain can be rugged, so sturdy footwear is recommended. The summit rewards hikers with breathtaking views of Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, and the surrounding countryside, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring Scotland’s capital."

"Arthur seat is the name of the highest peak in the Holyrood park on the east side of Edinburgh. From Princes Street you'll need a 20 minute walk to get there. I'd recommend hiking to the top to have a panoramic view of the city, it's especially nice at sunrise or sunset. Holyrood park is way bigger than you think, you can spend entire day there. Behind the peak there is a lake very popular with birds. Deer and foxes also like to visit to keep your eyes open. "

"Are you someone who enjoys a good hike? Even in the middle of a grand Scottish city there is a place to escape to the wilderness. Arthur’s Seat is a grat hilltop that overlooks all of Edinburgh. There are multiple routes and trails that lead to the summit. Some of are easier than others, while some take longer. I personally think that hiking to the top of Arthur’s Seat and watching the sun rise over Edinburgh is an excellent way to begin the day! "
