ICELAND: My Best Tips & Guides

ICELAND: My Best Tips & Guides

Iceland is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful places you'll ever see in this world. From glaciers to active volcanoes, and geothermal fields, to hot springs and green valleys or desertic landscapes, as well as huge waterfalls and cliffs. Iceland has a mesmerizing natural beauty that will leave you speechless. In this Guide, I'll share with you some of my Guides, and Itineraries that I created with passion and love which include a lot of tips, after having lived for more than 1 year in Iceland and travelled to almost every corner of the country.

Places I've travelled to in Iceland -

Below you'll find a map with yellow and green marks. Basically, green means "places I want to go" and yellow means "places I've been to".

Just for you to get an idea, the map was completely green when at the beginning of my life in Iceland, and after 1 year it ended up almost completely yellow, which makes me feel very happy! Specially because I ended up reaching remote places such as Hornstrandir (one of the best experiences of my life in there).

Exploring the most iconic places and beyond of this beautiful island was an incredible adventure and experience and I do sometimes miss Iceland, and this doesn't happen with all the countries I've lived in.

Living vs. Visiting Iceland -

NATURE - 🏔️

Living in Iceland for more than 1 year was a dream, mainly because I love nature and this island is full of pure natural beauty.

In 1 year I could literally see both ice and fire in a same island, I was lucky to witness 2 volcanic eruptions from very close, as well as hiking up to glaciers or doing ice climbing, too! Absolutely amazing experiences I would never imaging doing.

ECONOMICAL STABILITY - 💰

I'd say Iceland is one of the best countries to live, specially if you're looking for economical stability. So, to find a job in Iceland, settle down for a time, travel in the meantime and save some money, can be a very good choice.

That's what I did, and this allowed me to quit my corporate job and start travelling free with a nice amount of savings in my bank account. Probably in 1 year I could save - and travel in the meantime for free thanks to my job - the triple or more than I could ever be able to save in 1 year in my home country, Spain.

Contrary, if you visit Iceland as a tourist, you'll need to bare in mind that is a very expensive destination for tourists. However, avoiding coming during the peak seasons can help you finding lower prices in accommodation, tours, and car/van rentals.

LIVING IN ICELAND -

If you are really thinking in moving abroad, in finding an economical stability, in travelling more and for free or very cheap... then I have a solution for you - book a personalized call with me!

In this call I will be sharing with you my best tips, experiences, tools, even contacts based on my own experience after being living abroad in different countries and WITHOUT savings for more than 5 years! And most importantly, I'll be telling you how you could get the chance to travel around Iceland for free! I know it's possible because that's what I did!

VISITING ICELAND  -

If you can do it, I'd truly recommend living in Iceland and travelling in the meantime rather than coming as a tourist. However, we know that not everybody can easily move to another country, need a VISA, perhaps the cold is not your strenght point and you don't see yourself living in a place with such extreme weather like Iceland...

Then, no worries, I also help you organizing your trip to Iceland, with curated itineraries, complete guides and my personal tips, after having travelled and lived in there!

I’ll be sharing with you my Iceland Guides so you can use them to plan your upcoming trip to Iceland, but I also want to share with you the possibility to elaborate a customized itinerary for you, according to your interests, budget, lenght of the trip, etc.

I'm offering the chance to customize your trip, based on my deep knowledge about tour operators working in Iceland, known and lesser known places, incredible experiences, personal contacts... Don't miss this chance!!

MY ICELAND GUIDES -

Have you ever dreamt about travelling to Iceland? Here I share the most complete 8-day itinerary along the Ring Road in Iceland! After having lived in Iceland for more than 1 year, I want to share with you my best tips based on my experience for travelling around one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and that I like to call home. I’m also sharing special places and not only the most popular ones. What to consider before reading: • Personally, I believe that the most enjoyable way to travel around Iceland is by Campervan • The most important thing to pack is different layers of clothes, no matter what season you are in • Bare in mind that it's illegal to camp outside campings in Iceland (this is under your own responsibility) and this guide is not focusing on camping sites. • Be aware of the fast changing and though Icelandic weather. • Bring eye mask to sleep (there's almost no darkness during the Midnight Sun). • Feel free to modify the starting point of the road trip (either starting from the South or the West) according to the weather forecast (although it can be unpredictible). • I would not recommend taking detours that I suggest along the blog if weather conditions are not good. • Note that the maximum speed limit in Iceland is 90 km/h in main roads, make sure you don't overpass the limit. Traffic fines are very expensive in Iceland, you don't want to pay one! And be careful with sheep! They are constantly crossing the road. And most importantly, ENJOY YOUR TRIP TO ICELAND!! 😜🇮🇸 *all the pictures in this blog are mine otherwise stated
