Day 1: Barcelona's sneak peek

As this trip is considered for a weekend, I am considering that you arrive in the afternoon. Let's say then that you can start at Montjuic. 

Afternoon: Montjuïc area

Go to Plaza de España and reach the upper floor of Arenas Commercial Mall (via elevator paying 1€ or through the inside) to get some views of the square, Montjuic and Barcelona. You may want to enjoy a beer while doing so.

Continue walking to the pedestrian street of Las Ramblas and visit La Boqueria Market. Explore the colorful stalls filled with fresh produce, local delicacies, and more. Then continue your way down via Las Ramblas - although it is very touristy, it's still a must and at the end you will find the Cristobal Colon statue.

Head now to Barceloneta Beach for Lunch. You can go walking or grab a taxi depending on your time. Once at Barceloneta, take a walk to the restaurant Pez Vela for an amazing rice / paella and very nice sea views.

However, if not, you might want to head back towards the Cathedral to be able to walk along Paseo de Gracia and discover historical buildings, enjoy the shopping atmosphere and maybe grab a beer and a small tapa at El Nacional. Some Gaudi highlights on the way are Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

If you have time and book with time, you might even be able to enjoy some sunset-live-music-event at the rooftop of one of them! (Only available during summer time)

Dinner: You choose!

Enjoy some nice tapas experience in a traditional bar or a more fancy restaurant nearby or not: is up to you! Barcelona is not a big city and with taxi you can get anywhere in a few minutes. If you go for tapas, ensure to try patatas bravas, jamón ibérico, and other regional specialties. Take a look at my Barcelona's Restaurant Guide and choose what seems more a appealing. 

Day 3: Gaudi's Masterpieces

Morning: Sagrada Família

Start your day early with a visit to the iconic Sagrada Família. Book tickets in advance and ensure to do it with a guide since this building is even more interesting in the inside!
