The best deals fly into Bangkok but you may want to also consider flying into Phuket down the south and start there depending on your preference

We don't want to spend long here. 1 night to catch up on some sleep then head south before coming back up for new year and going north and finishing up near Chaing Mai etc. Could use Bangkok as a base to do day trips.

Another option would be to fly into Bangkok and spend NYE in Bangkok

Krabi

We also have a 3 Day Krabi Itinerary from Phi Phi

Phuket to Phi Phi - not sure if going yo visit Phi Phi the Only thing would like to see is the glow in dark plankton again which we have seen in Jamaica and I have seen in Thailand 2017

From Koh Phi Phi you can catch another ferry or speedboat over to Krabi, it’s very easy to book with any company or at the pier terminal. Krabi has an international airport so it’s another good location to start your 2 weeks in South Thailand trip or fly to another area of Thailand.

What to do in Krabi?

Railay

Railay Beach

Phra Nang Beach

Rock Climbing

Tiger Cave Temple

If you fancy a challenge on your 2 weeks in South Thailand route, try climbing 1,260 stairs to reach Wat Tham Suea. Once you’re at the top, you’ll be rewarded with views of the surrounding jungle. There’s also a Buddhist vegan restaurant here to give you energy! Check out Hong Ming Vegetarian Food.
