If you’re on a budget and open to navigating to the spectacular Nærøyfjord yourself, consider following this itinerary. It will likely save you over half the cost of a guided tour. During the dates I traveled in July, self-guided transfer totaled half the cost of the guided tour below.

First, you’ll jump on the NOR•WAY bus from Bergen busstasjon to Gudvangen E16 (a short walk to the Gudvangen ferry stop where you’ll start the cruise).

Next you’ll board the Fjord Cruise for a breathtaking 2 hour trip through the world heritage Nærøyfjord.

After the cruise, definitely experience the spectacular views with a ride on the The Flåm Railway. And don’t miss the stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall including the elusive forest spirit Huldra!

For combined travels with The Flåm Railway and The Bergen (Oslo) Line back to Bergen, you can purchase your ticket at www.vy.no/en or via the Vy app below.
