Montreux is my hometown and I share here my ultimate itinerary if you only have one day in Montreux (+ some stuff to do if you do have more than one day!).
Montreux is a famous city in Western Switzerland, situated along the shores of the Lake Geneva. The two most famous events are The Montreux Jazz Festival and The Xmas Market. Definitely something you need to experience once in your lifetime! But Montreux attract people year round and is a beautiful and charming city to visit at anytime!
Feel free to adjust the itinerary to your wants and needs!

I lived in Montreux for 16 years and here is your ultimate guide on where to stay when visiting, either for a few days or just flying by.
1. The Historic Hotels
2. My Top Picks
3. Entire Homes
3. On a Budget
Montreux is not a huge city and very walkable (but steep). The center of Montreux is pretty much next to the train station and going down to the Lake. The Old Town is situated in Les Planches, a little bit higher (yet you will probably need less than 10 minutes to reach the Lake).

Montreux is definitely unique and worth visiting. My friends coming for the first time often say that it is giving Italian and exotic vibes. You will understand what I mean once you walk along the shores surrounded by palm trees and the amazing views.
Here are my recommendations for visitors and tips for planning your trip to make the best out of it!
1. How long should I stay?
2. Where should I stay?

Looking for a relaxing weekend gateway or the perfect hotel for your skiing trip to Switzerland? This is your ultimate guide, no matter the budget you have in mind.
This guide compiles some of the best hotels to either fully disconnect or relax after a day out in nature. From a hot tubs to saunas or massages, these hotels have everything you need to recharge.
Most of them are located in the Alps, meaning within mountain towns rather than in cities. These mountain towns, some of which are more popular than others (i.e. Zermatt or Verbier), are were people come to ski, hike, bike, or just enjoy stunning views. Even locals, aka me, come to theses towns/places year around.
I created four categories (from "on a budget" to "luxury"), depending on your budget.

Looking to go on a day-hike during your vacation, an overnight backpacking adventure, or a peak to reach with nice views? This guide is for you if you want to explore local hikes in the South-West (French Speaking part) of Switzerland, easily reachable from the Lake Geneva.
Some hike suggestions can be done in a day. Probably most of them. But if you don't want to run and want to enjoy the adventure and the views, you can sleep in a tent or cabin once you are at the top. Because the sunrise/sunset is always worth it!
The only app you need to help you around during your hike is: SwitzerlandMobility. In there you will find every information you need about hikes you want to do!
These hikes are not for everyone. Some are more difficult and take in between 2-5 hours to complete. Always double check if they are not closed and be ready for any weather!
