Hello! My name is Trent Gertz and I am 21 years old, graduating from Boise State University this May of 2024. I recently moved back to the United States after living abroad in Turin, Italy for 1 year. While abroad I discovered my passion for travel while visiting 26 different countries and 45+ breathtaking cities. I had many early wakeup calls that would start a new adventure when the alarm went off, whether it was hopping on a train, plane, bus, or locals offering rides. I have gained so much knowledge through the weekly journeys, whether that be culture, costs, transportation, dining, or housing accommodations. I feel that through all the speedbumps that each trip threw at me I now can confidently say I can effectively plan and travel all through Europe no matter the circumstances. I am very knowledgeable within the USA as well as I come from a family of airline pilots and flight attendants, so I was born with the angst to see the world and understand all it has to offer. By "hike," I mean a few hours at a slow pace. - MUSEUMS - Spend an afternoon. Read the descriptions on exhibits. Talk with the docents. Buy something in the giftshop. - CHURCHES - I'm fascinated by the various ways people have worshipped the God of the Bible over centuries and across borders. Many older churches are also museums or tourist-friendly spaces. Some additionally hold regular liturgical services. - CASTLES - Castles, fortresses, palaces, big ol' houses: these places transport me back in time. I imagine the people who built, lived in, and defended them. What would they think of how we now live? About 4 years ago I got the travel itch. This is around the same time that my friends started getting married, having kids, buying homes, and just all around acting like adults. In a time where everyone was intent on settling down I was intent on having a trip booked every 3 months. I have planned solo trips and planned trips for myself and friends. I believe there is a difference in a trip and a vacation, so it’s most important to me for the client to know which they would prefer. When I travel internationally I try to make the most of my time, so most of my guides will be more “trip” based. This includes traveling to different parts of a country and making the most of the time to see and experience new things.
