I have traveled to over 27 countries, on four continents, as well as lived in three countries, and tried to learn two other languages. I studied in Chile for a semester in college. I lived in Ecuador for a year, learning Spanish and teaching English. More recently, I was living and teaching in Sweden, and also trying to learn Swedish. I'm an American in London who has lived here over 20 years. I adore travelling and our trips (my partner and I) always involve something artsy (gallery, museum), nature, exercise, wandering, good food and lots of cafe stops. Besides London have spent serious amounts of time in Paris France although my french is a work in progress. I will always try to recommend places my partner and I been to personally. We have done backpacking through Thailand, Morocco and Egypt, done mid range hotels through Europe and have done luxury too where we've eaten at Michelin Restaurants and stayed at Posh hotels. Hi! We are Katie and Joe! We quit the corporate life in 2022 after a decade of global advertising and photography experience to travel the world. We converted a 2022 Ford Transit Van to be our mobile home on wheels. Since we completed Clifford (he's big and red), we've been to Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Utah, Oregon, Washington, up the Alaskan Highway, and into Alaska. We are on a quest to see all 63 US National Parks, so far we've seen 41 in 2023 and more to come. We were both raised in Colorado but have spent the past 10 years bouncing around New York City, NY, Berlin, Germany, Detroit, Michigan. While those are fantastic places filled with wonderful memories, we are happy to be closer to our families in Colorado. This is not your one-week relax and chill retreat vacation recommendations at the beach. I am more of a live-my-life-to-its-fullest and make-the-most-of-my-day type of traveler. Ironically, I love equally to travel solo or with a bunch of friends/family, eat old sandwiches on a backpacking trip or lavish on gastronomic food, a spontaneous adventure where we decide at 9pm where we are sleeping or a day-by-day planned trip. No matter where, how, with whom, and for how long, I choose to prioritize the experience and memories. And with a friendly budget. Sometimes, budget friendly means only booking a room on Airbnb in order to enjoy a nice brunch. Or, going to the grocery store to balance out an expensive scenic train ride. It's all about balance! At 24 years old, I am nowhere to be a travel expert. But, I lived in 4 different countries already, across two continents, and have a google maps saturated with saved pins. My obsession in finding the best gems, hidden spots, good food, fun cocktails, and unique experiences, has brought me here. You will find a good mix of shorts spontaneous weekends trips up to longer adventures; road-trip itineraries to nice hotels; Instagram- or TikTok-inspired worthy spots to unknown local gems; photogenic sceneries to more authentic views and smells.
