I have worked in the tourism industry for over a decade as a local Alaskan guide, travel blogger, freelance writer, and academic. 🎒After my first backpacking trip to Europe 15 years ago and solo travel in Brazil, I started my first travel blog. It has undergone many transformations but is now a 100% sustainable travel resource. Travel left me feeling too big for my small town, and one day, I loaded up my trusty Subaru and drove to Las Vegas, where I met my now-Australian husband at a nightclub. That serendipitous encounter led to us moving to Germany, where we got permanent residency and lived for 7 years! 🚙My time in Europe was spent campervanning around Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Norway, and Sweden, hiking and snowboarding extensively in the Alps, and visiting many of Europe's incredible rural areas and national parks. I recently moved to Vancouver, Canada, where I hope to stay for some time and plan EV road trips! I travel back to Alaska and Australia often. Hello! My name is Trent Gertz and I am 21 years old, graduating from Boise State University this May of 2024. I recently moved back to the United States after living abroad in Turin, Italy for 1 year. While abroad I discovered my passion for travel while visiting 26 different countries and 45+ breathtaking cities. I had many early wakeup calls that would start a new adventure when the alarm went off, whether it was hopping on a train, plane, bus, or locals offering rides. I have gained so much knowledge through the weekly journeys, whether that be culture, costs, transportation, dining, or housing accommodations. I feel that through all the speedbumps that each trip threw at me I now can confidently say I can effectively plan and travel all through Europe no matter the circumstances. I am very knowledgeable within the USA as well as I come from a family of airline pilots and flight attendants, so I was born with the angst to see the world and understand all it has to offer. I am happy that I am now able to share my knowledge and experience with others to help others fall in love with traveling as much as I have.

I am recent college grad who has been planning my family's vacations, and then my solo travels, since I was 11 years old! I'm from New York, so NYC is my specialty, but I've been all over the East and West Coasts, as well as much of Europe, and I'm looking to travel to Asia soon.
