Originally from LA, I've solo traveled to 54 countries at 27 years old. Most of my travels have revolved around South East Asia, Central America, Europe, Australia, and South America. I specialize in budget backpacking and slow travel. I focus my recommendations on adventure activities, nature, cultural experiences, local food, and nightlife. I've had tons of crazy experiences along my journey that has shaped me into the confident backpacker I am today. Growing up my family took us on a month long roadtrip round the country every year. As an adult I get out and explore every chance I can! Since I was very young I had a sense of wonder that there must be more than just the place I grew up (Germany) and that one day I will be able to see more. The fact that I played professional football allowed me to travel to different places around the globe. After I stopped playing, the hunger for the world had just begun. I traveled almost the whole world by myself (some spots are still on the list) and became the first professional luggage packer in the world. I am serious, I can prepare my luggage under any circumstance in under 30 minutes while listening to music and thinking about my trip. Jokes aside, traveling can be amazing but there is certainly the down site as well. I have to admit that there were moments I felt lonely and I didn’t know what to do or where to go next but this was never a hurdle for me to stop. Traveling without a plan and learning how to listen more to my gut made the journey far more interesting, I mean there is always a plan in no planing somehow but I love to just go for it without thinking too much. I learned how to say no to what I don’t want without feeling bad. In every country I have been I was able to find a place to make money and if this is something you are concert with I assure you that there are enough options to work and make money while traveling. I am traveling solo for more than 13 years and I am just 32. But to be fair nobody is alone ones he goes out to the world with an open heart. My best part of traveling is the actual experience of having the whole world in front of me and certainly the taste of freedom and the opportunity to discover new places and things. Buy something in the giftshop. - CHURCHES - I'm fascinated by the various ways people have worshipped the God of the Bible over centuries and across borders. Many older churches are also museums or tourist-friendly spaces. Some additionally hold regular liturgical services. - CASTLES - Castles, fortresses, palaces, big ol' houses: these places transport me back in time.
