Seeing all of the lighthouses we could find was the focus of this trip, but we found so much more along the way. Flying into Boston, Massachusetts we made our way along the coast all the way to Portland, Maine.
We stayed five nights and six days exploring all of the nooks and crannies we encountered. Lighthouses were definitely found and loved, but excitedly so was a fort built in the 1600's, a local bar with ties to a tragedy as well as part of a movie, a fabulously, politically incorrect tour, and even stayed in a witch's house. You will find all of these in this guide and so much more. Lighthouses, restaurants, tours, and oh my gosh, the best donuts you will find anywhere. This was an incredibly fun trip.
I also include many of the photos I took at each place.

A round trip 8 day route from Boston exploring New Hampshire, Vermont, & Maine. There are lots of stops and scenic sights to enjoy the natural beauty in early fall! This is a moderate paced itinerary which I would recommend spending
Leaf-peeping has become super popular and lots of the charming boutique B&Bs book out quickly because they are small. A few of the areas book out completely by mid-January. I would book no later than February.
There are also many foliage maps which will help you determine when is best to plan your trip. It is not an exact science as many things affect the exact timing of "peak" including rain fall, temperature, and more. This is my favorite map for New England: https://newengland.com/foliage/foliage/peak-fall-foliage-map/

2022 was the year of a lot of travel redemption for most of us, but it was also the year I had to turn down trips to Portugal, Spain, and Paris, as well as have a trip to New Orleans cancelled due to Covid. But thankfully that didn’t stop me from a spring road trip to Texas, a few summer days in DC, two trips to Disney World, and lots of Tennessee day trips in between. Enjoy this travel journal of 350 (!!!) places, including:
🖼️ 42 Museums, Gardens, and Attractions
☕️ 50 Coffee Shops
🍽️ 99 Restaurants, Bakeries, and Food Trucks
🛏️ 38 Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, and Airbnbs
✨ and a whole bunch more!

Hello!
I will share an itinerary with iconic and must-go places you should visit if you go to NY.
P.S. If I didn't include one place you want to visit, my advice is to add it in one day that you know you will be near it. My itinerary was made by zones, like that you're not spending the whole day moving everywhere.
I highly recommend you check the events available in the month you go because there are many and they are very good; for me, it was the best experience. I went in December and I had the opportunity to watch The Nutcracker.
I will leave some free time in the days, for you to include all the extra events you want to go to.
Enjoy your trip to NY!
