Perhaps the singular most frequent question I get asked having lived in Paris since 2016 is "do you have any recommendations for a great French restaurant?". The answer is Yes! This guide includes: 🇫🇷 20 Classic French brasseries and bistrots I've been to and loved, sorted from least to most expensive with price estimates per person. 🇫🇷 2 Corner Cafes that I truly adore (sometimes 'corner cafes' will also be brasseries or bistrots, but to me, corner cafes have their own special vibe). 🇫🇷 3 Corner Cafes that are specifically for great people-watching. 🇫🇷 5 Restaurants specializing in traditional dishes like crêpes, planches, flammekueche, French-style tapas, and more. [NEW: Nov 2024] 🇫🇷 13 Restaurants known for their views of the Eiffel Tower and city skyline. This guide does not include: French fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants. BONUS: If you purchase this guide and don't speak French, I'm happy to call and make one reservation for you. You also get: ✍️ My personal notes for each recommendation 📍 An interactive map of all recommendations 🔓 Access to all future updates (I add to it as a find great restaurants) 🎞️ Linked videos (where applicable) that bring recommendations and advice to life 💙 If you loved these suggestions, I would really appreciate it if you shared this guide with a friend, left a great review, or contributed a tip.

In 2017, I studied abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy, and just about died and went to pasta heaven! From January through May, I ate like a queen. I honestly have no idea how I afforded to eat out as much as I did. But it was worth every cent! As soon as I was confirmed into the Lorenzo de'Medici program, various friends of friends sent their recommendations and guides for Florence to me. I inherited a wealth of inside knowledge about Florence like the secret bakeries, wine windows, and where to find the cute bartenders. I referred to these guides religiously in the first few weeks of getting my footing before establishing my own favorites around the city and starting my own Florence food guide. There's no doubt in my mind that there are newer additions to the Florence restaurant scene since I was there in 2017. This is just a compilation of my favorite places in Florence from someone who lived there for 5 months! This food guide is like my original Google Doc bullet point list had a baby with my food Instagram, @my600lblife. I've removed any eateries that are no longer in business but kept all my original commentary from 20-year-old Maeve who apparently was only concerned a good deal. Some of them make me giggle and cringe a little but they're authentically me and it's just like my favorite saying, "If you're not cringing, you're not growing." I've included a lengthy list of tips for dining in Italy, a breakdown of the Italian courses and their English translation, and of course, my favorite (and not so favorite) restaurants in Florence including pasta, pizza, panino, caffe, aperitivo, gelato & more! Please tag me on any pictures on Instagram (@maevecutts) so I can live vicariously through your travels to Florence! As always, I'm happy to help you plan a custom itinerary for your trip to Florence! Just reach out to me directly (:

Late 2023 I decided to go backpacking with a friend. 26 days, 6 countries all under 380€. 📍Croatia 🇭🇷 📍Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 📍Montenegro 🇲🇪 📍Albania 🇦🇱 📍North Macedonia 🇲🇰 📍Serbia 🇷🇸 Ever since finishing university 3 years ago, I have been full time travelling and volunteering for conservation projects. I absolutely love my lifestyle however can't lie tight budget is one of the downsides. Instead of giving up my travel dreams I just decided to become resourceful and find the perfect itineraries that still fit my tight budget and let me explore the world. Before every trip, I spend weeks planning and researching and it's one of my favourite parts of the adventure. However, I know it can be overwhelming and tedious at times so I decided to share my research and my itinerary with you. All places mentioned here are places where I have been/stayed/eaten myself and can give you an honest review. In this guide, you'll find an itinerary through the Balkans meant to take you through 6 countries throughout 26 days following my footsteps. I'll share with you my recommendations of where to stay and what to do as well as a detailed outline of the full cost (accommodation and transport). You'll also find links to the accommodations I stayed in and all the bus/train companies I used. You'll also find a spreadsheet so you can adjust the itinerary to your own needs. What you'll get in this guide ✔️Itinerary through Balkans for 26 days ✔️Budget for the whole trip for accommodation and transport (updated November 23) ✔️Recommendations of budget accommodation in each location ✔️Recommendations of activities in each location ✔️Researched public transport connections between each location ✔️Ideas of day trips from the location (with budget expectations) ✔️Tips on how to get discounts on booking.com and flixbus (including a discount code) What you won't find in this guide ✖️Detailed day-to-day plan ✖️Budget for food during the trip as they will vary vastly depending on your personal preferences ✖️Food and restaurant recommendations *I did the trip with a friend so the itinerary is mostly applicable for 2 people because accommodations recommendations are double/twin rooms. But if you're traveling with different number of people of course you can still use the guide you just need to find a different accomodation
