Over the last 2 years, I have spent three and a half months in Porto, Portugal. That's a ton of meals! 😆 I love trying new foods and restaurants, and here are some of my favorite spots in and around the historic center of Porto!
Most of these places I've just found in my research over the years, some I've been lucky enough to just stumble on, and others have been suggested to me by the locals I have met along the way. But most importantly, I've actually been to every one of these places personally (some more than once!).
I've tried to provide a mix of budget, moderately priced and a few splurge meals. I hope my personal recommendations can help you plan your culinary journey around Porto!
What's included in this guide:
🔹9 Coffee/brunch options
🔹19 Lunch/dinner options
🔹3 Dessert options
🔹9 Bar/nightlife/cocktail options
🔹3 Food/drink related activities

As an Orlando local, I have had plenty of time to explore the fantastic food scene. Whenever family and friends visit, they always ask for local places to grab a bite. I like to recommend these local legends to anyone who asks, especially because they have such a fun vibe and delicious food.
*continuously updating*
**all mentioned restaurants also have at least some vegetarian options 🌱🥑
***bilingual staff is also denoted 🤗

Soul food & jazz ❤️ I don't really recommend Harlem as a neighborhood to stay in during your visit. It's super local & it's a little rough around the edges, but it's safe to visit and amazing to eat at. It's really famous for jazz music, live music, and soul food. It's full of history and it's one of my favorite neighborhoods to grab a drink & a bite at.
This map contains my favorite soul food restaurants, a steakhouse, and a couple of great spots to watch live jazz. This is a living map, meaning, when I discover any new spots that I love, I'll add them in & you'll automatically get the updates! Use the map function at the top right of this guide to see what's closest to you when you visit!

Finding a place to grab coffee, eat lunch, or enjoy a nice dinner while traveling is hard enough as is, but when you’re in a big city, the options are truly overwhelming.
While my guides are full of one-of-a-kind restaurants for certain neighborhoods, this Essential Eateries map includes the top few LA-specific chains that will help you eat like a local on the go. Not only that, but I include a backstory of each chain, my top menu suggestion, and what I consider to be the best location to visit.
This guide can also serve as a “What NOT to Eat” if you’re the kind of person who only wants to try single-location restaurants and want to determine if the place you’re interested in dining is a chain. Just pull up this map when you’re out and about to see where the nearest spots are when your tummy starts rumbling!

Hungarian cuisine is said to be one of the spiciest in Europe, perhaps because we use a lot of paprika, black pepper and other spices. Majority of the dishes are based on meat, carbs and seasonal vegetables & fruits.
The list of dishes to try can be rather long, especially if the recommendation comes from a Hungarian. 🙂
Below you will find a highlight and a culinary map, which will hopefully help you decide where to eat in Budapest.

Georgia’s second-biggest city is every bit as charming & hospitable as its nickname “The Hostess City of the South” implies.
With its beautiful 18th-century architecture, dripping Spanish moss, delectable food, and variety of things to do, there’s no doubt that spending one day in Savannah, GA, is always worth it.
Here's how to make the most of one day in this must-see destination.

We spent two months in beautiful Sayulita, Mexico with our dog and have details on all of our favorite restaurants, places to stay, and fun adventures!
We've done extensive research on which restaurants are great (and didn't give us food poisoning), so you don't have to!
Everything is also dog-friendly except for the group activities.

This walk is for those that love history, food, and culture, and the idea of taking your time to immerse yourself in one thing and doing it really well. Lafayette is a north-south street in Manhattan named after the Marquis de Lafayette, the French aristocrat and hero of the American Revolutionary War. It begins at the intersection of Reade and Centre Street and runs thru Chinatown, NoLIta, NoHo and ends near Astor Place.
