BUDGET CATEGORY:
Vietnam is a really cheap country in general. You will find budget, mid-range and luxury options (some luxury options are actually affordable)
IS VIETNAM FOR ME? Vietnam is for you if you are open to different cultures, you're ok with being uncomfortable and experience new things. This itinerary involves night bus or night train but don't worry. For most of the destinations, if you prefer, you can switch the night bus with a flight or private car.
IS VIETNAM SAFE? Absolutely yes. Vietnam is a pretty safe country, like all the countries of South East Asia in general. People are very friendly and they will always try to help you in every way they can. It's actually a very common destination for solo female travelers
NB this is not a PDF but an interactive guide which means that when you click on a place in the guide or map, you can directly open directions on your phone's Google Maps app, call restaurants or book hotels.

Intro:
Since I was a kid (born and raised in Rome) I heard of Romans barely eating around City Centre.
We were raised with the idea that is pricy and quality is just average.
With this guide I want to lead you in the narrow roads of the City to find hidden gems, as well as "locals-approved" touristic locations.
How to Use:
Each location will have the following information:
a. In the title:
- Local / Historic (โโโโโ) - Touristic, yet good (โ)
- Super cheap (โฌ) - Luxury (โฌโฌโฌโฌโฌ)
- Restaurant (R) | Take away (TA) | At the counter (C) | Ethnic (E) | Vegan (V)
b. In the description:
- The specialty of the house (highlighted in the first picture)
- Nearby monument / museum / famous area
- Must know information
All historic locations have undergone Nonna's approval :)
The guide also includes well known restaurants coming from the culinary tradition of:
- Persia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, Argentina, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Syria, Lebanon, Greece, Austria.

๐๏ธ So you're going to the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, and trying to figure out the most convenient place to stay?
In Hanoi - and especially in the city center's Old Quarter, which has a jam-packed offer of affordable accommodation - it can be quite overwhelming to choose the right place to stay that will:
โ
Be close to the best sights, foods, cafes, and bars worth visiting
โ
Be clean, safe, and have extremely friendly staff
โ
Offer great value for the price
โ Not be noise-polluted
โ Not be dark/missing a window in your room
โ Not be too far walking distance from all the worthy places to visit
In this guide, I will uncover my recommendations for the best areas & hotels around city center's Old Quarter such as:
๐ Central Old Quarter Area
๐ West Old Quarter Area
๐ St. Joseph's Cathedral Area
๐ Hai Ba Trung Area
๐ Opera House Area
And, by the way, all of the listed hotels have a rating higher than 9.0 on Booking.com, so I've got you covered with only truly excellent picks of services!
