Memphis is on the western-most corner of Tennessee, and while it may be known for its incredible BBQ and rich music history, it's also a great spot for families, which is why I'm eager to share with you the best Memphis day trips for you and your little ones.
In this guide you'll receive itineraries for four themed day trips to Memphis: Arts & Beauty, Play, History, and Science & Nature. Each of these day trips will include morning and afternoon activities, as well as suggestions for nearby coffee shops and restaurants that are family-friendly. On a sunny Sunday afternoon in Memphis, I took the streets of South Main to explore the plethora of easily walkable breweries, bars and eateries. I did this crawl solo, but each place would be fun for groups too. Pro top: limit one drink at each establishment and match each pint of beer with a pint of water ;)

Memphis quickly became “home” when I moved to the Grind City for a year in 2016-2017, and then quasi-lived there as a commuter for two years. There was a tangible buzz to the city that I felt in my bones and still feel the moment I cross The Loop to visit. In many ways, I felt my personal growth and healing paralled the city’s resurgence over the last couple of years.
Memphis is a city that doesn’t hide its scars. It truly embodies the slogan of its beloved Grizzlies: Grit and Grind. Memphis is full of creatives and risk-takers. A perfect blend of southern hospitality and big city anonymity.
Here’s a few of my favorite places to frequent for a day or weekend trip, ranging from upscale meals to hole-in-the-wall soul food. Memphis is indeed on the rise.

In honor of Black History Month, we’re sharing a Civil Rights map to inspire you to continue to educate yourself on and speak up about racial injustice.
Our challenge to you is to visit one of these locations this month in order to learn about America’s Black History. If you can’t visit in person, take a look at the guide and read about each place and its significance.

2022 was the year of a lot of travel redemption for most of us, but it was also the year I had to turn down trips to Portugal, Spain, and Paris, as well as have a trip to New Orleans cancelled due to Covid. But thankfully that didn’t stop me from a spring road trip to Texas, a few summer days in DC, two trips to Disney World, and lots of Tennessee day trips in between. Enjoy this travel journal of 350 (!!!) places, including:
🖼️ 42 Museums, Gardens, and Attractions
☕️ 50 Coffee Shops
🍽️ 99 Restaurants, Bakeries, and Food Trucks
🛏️ 38 Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, and Airbnbs
✨ and a whole bunch more!

I went into 2023 with a huge appetite for travel but very few plans to do so. Little did I know London was on the horizon, and while my annual anniversary trip was much tamer than usual in humble Huntsville AL, I was so glad to do a solo Disney World trip (again), take my girls on the road for the first time to Louisiana, and have lots of Tennessee day trips in between. Enjoy this travel journal of 379 (!!!) places, including:
🖼️ 64 Museums, Gardens, and Attractions
☕️ 53 Coffee Shops
🍽️ 82 Restaurants, Bakeries, Bars, and Food Trucks
🛏️ 29 Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, and Airbnbs
✨ and a whole bunch more!

Ultimate Copenhagen Guide: Everything you need to know when going to Copenhagen
Welcome to my city!
I created the ultimate guide with more than 200 selected things to do, see and taste as a result of more than 21 years living in this city.
When people think of Denmark, they often picture the statue of the little mermaid, Tivoli amusement park and lots of bikes. And while Copenhagen is all of that, there’s also much more to the city.
Included are the best places to see between:
- Castles
- Churches
- Parks
- Hidden gems
- Museums & Galleries
- Panoramic points
- Best restaurants, unique cafes, street food, brunch
- Suggested itineraries
& more
Here you'll also find general information of the city, how to get around, what not to do and frequently asked questions, as well as suggested itineraries.
Do you have any question? Send me a DM on Instagram @worldofsofiab or an email to world.of.sofiab@gmail.com
Happy exploring!
*** Disclosure:
For attractions, I provide GetYourGuide and Booking.com links where possible. I myself love the vendors as you can keep all your tickets/stays in one place (even better with the Copenhagen card), you also get instant confirmation and can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your planned activity/stay - this is a major benefit in a city like Copenhagen where the weather can dictate your itinerary.
Using the links provided also help me as a small business, as I make a small commission with no additional charge to you!
