I moved to Madrid, Spain in summer 2021 from San Francisco, California. I came to Spain for the first time in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the place. I quickly decided to relocate here permanently. I love showing friends around new places that seem to be cropping up every day here. In my first 9 months here, I had 15 friends visit me from abroad (mostly the US) and afterwards, in the interest of efficiency, I wrote a 5-page informal Google Doc to share amongst my friends. This quickly morphed into a more comprehensive guide that I've posted on Thatch. I continue showing friends, family, and friend of friends around Madrid. I've hosted upwards of 30 visitors now including friends with babies, vegetarians, and quick day trippers.

Hey! I'm Sasha and I'm an avid traveler. I find a place I like and I explore it until there is nothing left to explore. Since 2022, that place has been Portugal (and the Azores Islands), where I have travelled at every opportunity I get - six times thus far. I have explored a different location/aspect/travel modality each time. From taking trains to get around the country, to renting a manual transmission car and getting stuck in the summer heat on an uphill off-the-map backroad of a vineyard in the Douro, to cycling from Lisbon to Sintra on three broken gears - I've done it all. Think of a group of people celebrating life, without any specific reason, just that ..getting together over the food. I am a Southern California native, mother of two, military spouse and travel lover currently located in Naples, Italy.
