"Wadi Mujib is one of Jordan's unsung treasures, especially for adventure lovers. The canyon is officially branded a "hike"; however, that's hardly a proper name for just how dramatic it is. Crawling your way through a river through a canyon - not too dissimilar from the Siq in Petra - the route requires you to pull against the current and grab ladders and ropes to make it to a waterfall at the culmination of the route. There really is no experience I have ever seen like this.
A few important notes. You will likely need to buy yourself a sort of shoe that allows you to climb on the rocks. And last but not least - you will likely get knicked and scraped a bit during the hike, which is completely normal. I highly recommend planning a visit to Wadi Mujib after you've done whatever floating you want to do in the Dead Sea. Having scrapes while floating in the salt can be particularly painful."
