What people say

"One of the most unique locations I have ever stayed in! This hostel is located at the famous & historical São Bento Train Station. Yes, it's inside the train station with an exceptional view of the trains. The location is very central - it seems you can reach everything all around in just a 1-5 minute walk distance: - Main square - Aliados Avenue - Clérigos Tower - Santa Catarina shopping street - The Dom Luís I Bridge & Jardim do Morro (most beautiful spot for a sunset!) - Galerias de Paris street - Livraria Lello - and many more attractions! COMMON AREAS: - 2 well-designed lounges with sofas, bed swings (!), a tennis table, a second bar & tables for dinners or some meetings. - A very picturesque lounge right up the reception. It has a great view in front of the window to the trains. Perfect to read a book or simply enjoy the view, plus there you can even play a piano! - A huge kitchen-dining area with many tables and all the necessary equipment. - Inside bars for drinks & some snacks (close to the entrance & upstairs). - Clean & modern shared bathrooms. ROOMS: - 3-bunk beds, that are very comfortable. - Each bed has curtains, a socket, and a reading light. - Big and comfortable lockers to secure belongings (you don't need to have a lock). ADDITIONAL SERVICES: - Laundry service - Towels (for a fee)"

"This hostel is literally inside the São Bento train station. Super cool! Dorms go for 23-25 a night and they have a nice bar on the ground level. Staff is also extremely friendly! Also at reception, they have a grand piano that you can play. In terms of activities, they offer surfing lessons, Douro River tours Red Bus tours, walking tours, family dinners, wine tours, pub crawls, and Tasca tours. Room PROS: Lockers, curtains on beds, reading light, electrical socket Room CON: triple bunk-beds. You better hope you’re not on the highest one! Bathrooms are great with more than enough stalls, sinks and showers for everyone. What I liked the most about the hostel is the building itself. Very grand and historic with long corridors and tall ceilings. On the top floor, they have an incredible lounge area with all sorts of games and Netflix. A complete breakfast is served every morning in the spacious kitchen area. The Passenger also has the perfect location. Right in the city center! Very easy to walk everywhere from there. Expect a younger crowd. Not party central but easy to meet other travelers. "
