"If you want to do a little bit of shopping this is a good place to go. Les Halles is a bustling district located in the heart of Paris's 1st arrondissement. Historically, it was home to the central food market of the city, known as "the belly of Paris." Today, it has transformed into a vibrant urban hub featuring a modern shopping mall called "Forum des Halles," with numerous shops, restaurants, and a cinema. "
"The Forum des Halles replaced the market in 1979. However, the glass and metal architecture of this 4000m2 complex triggered more controversy. As a result, nobody really dared to venture there late at night, and the Forum consequently became a no-go zone! The City of Paris therefore invested in an ambitious redevelopment program in order to rehabilitate the area. The Canopée was eventually completed in 2016."
