"Haneul Park, meaning “Sky Park”, is one of the most breathtaking spots in Seoul, offering panoramic city views, vast silver grass fields, and an unforgettable sunset experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from the city while still enjoying some of the best skyline views, this is the place to go.
Why You’ll Love It
🌾 Stunning Seasonal Landscapes – Silver grass in autumn, vibrant wildflowers in spring, and lush greenery in summer.
🌇 Incredible Skyline Views – Overlooks the Han River, Namsan Tower, and beyond.
🌿 Peaceful & Less Crowded – Unlike some of Seoul’s other viewpoints, this park offers a more serene experience.

Best Things to Do at Haneul Park
🌾 Wander Through the Silver Grass Fields
In autumn (late September – November), the park transforms into a golden sea of silver grass, creating one of the dreamiest scenes in Seoul.
📸 Take Stunning Photos at the Viewpoints
Don’t miss the iconic wooden walkways, the round observation deck, and the famous ‘LOVE’ and ‘하늘공원’ signs for the perfect Instagram shots.
🌅 Catch the Sunset Over Seoul
The view of the Han River with the warm hues of the sunset is simply magical. Arrive around 4:30-5:00 PM in autumn for the best lighting.
🦉 Spot the Park’s Unique Wildlife
Since Haneul Park was built on a former landfill site that was transformed into an ecological haven, you can find rare birds, butterflies, and even some cute stray cats.
🎡 Visit During the Seoul Silver Grass Festival (억새축제)
Held every October, this festival features night illuminations, food stalls, and cultural performances amid the glowing silver grass.
Insider Tips
🔹 Avoid weekends for a quieter experience. It can get crowded during sunset, so visiting on a weekday is ideal.
🔹 Bring a picnic. There are benches and open areas where you can sit and enjoy a snack with a view.
🔹 Wear comfy shoes. Whether you take the stairs or the tram, you’ll be walking a lot!
🔹 Bring a light jacket in autumn. The breeze at the top can be chilly, especially in the evening.
🔹 Visit in different seasons! Spring is great for cherry blossoms and wildflowers, summer is lush and green, and autumn is golden and dreamy."

"If you enjoy taking golden hour photos amidst tall feathery silvergrass, Haneul Park is a must-visit.
One of the most beautiful Seoul Instagram spots, Haneul Park is situated at the highest part of the World Cup Park, providing you with an amazing bird’s eye view of Seoul, so get your camera ready to snap photos of the scenery too.
There are also a variety of resting spots, a convenience store and onsite restrooms available at the park.
In addition to the stunning natural scenery, during October this park holds the Pampas Grass Festival where the pampas grass is in full bloom and visitors can enjoy exploring and pampas-related activities."
