"Look no further for dedicated preservation, exhibition, and exploration of Viking ships and danish maritime history.
The Viking Ship Museum is located in Roskilde, where the archaeological discoveries of Viking ships were made, approximately 30 kilometres west of Copenhagen.
The museum's collection includes several Viking ships that represent various types, including warships and trading vessels. The ships are dated to the 11th century and provide valuable insights into Viking shipbuilding.
One unique aspect of the Viking Ship Museum is its active boatyard, where craftsmen reconstruct and build Viking ships using traditional methods and tools, offering visitors the opportunity to witness the original shipbuilding process.
The museum even offers boat trips on the Roskilde Fjord using reconstructed Viking ships. The trip takes approx. 1 hour, including handing out life jackets and an introduction and is only available from may 1st to september 30th.

"30 kilometers from Copenhagen lies the characteristic and ancient city of Roskilde.
It is a town of medieval origin, which was founded by the Vikings in the 10th century. It was the capital of Denmark from 1000 to 1417, when King Eric of Pomerania moved the political center to Copenhagen. This city contains the origins of the Viking civilization, and offers numerous attractions and museums on this theme. In fact, here you can visit the Viking ship museum which houses five Viking ships dating back to medieval times. A trip to Roskilde is definitely a must if you love Viking history!

"The star of Roskilde is the Viking Ship Museum, located at the bottom of the hill from the Cathedral (the park between the two is a lovely 1 kilometer walk).
The museum has the remains of five ships, along with various exhibitions on the Vikings and their ships. The museum also maintains a workshop where you can see Viking ship replicas built based on the remains in the harbor. If you're feeling adventurous, the museum offers harbor tours on replicas around the museum! These tours are additional in price and have a pre-set schedule."
